Good evening, ABS Families,
ABS Parents Pray Monthly Bible Verse:
Prayer of Scripture: Wisdom and Learning
"Lord, may You instruct our ABS Children in the way of wisdom and lead them along straight paths." Proverbs 4:11
Hispanic Heritage Month Prayer: Faith that Transforms Us
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of faith
that brings us together as one family.
Like Saint Martin de Porres, may we serve with joy,
heal with compassion, and love without limits.
Transform our hearts to be more like Yours.
Amen.
Hispanic Heritage Month: Our school proudly celebrated the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month with a special assembly honoring the rich cultures, traditions, history, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Through engaging performances, music, and student participation, we recognized the diversity that makes our school community special.
Bobcats Light the Way: The Great Lantern Parade is Almost Here!
The whole school is invited to march in the Great Lantern Parade in Patterson Park on Saturday, October 24. Line up starts at 6:30pm, and every student who brings a lantern will get a glow stick to light it up for the walk. Siblings are welcome to march too, lantern or no lantern.
Didn't get to make a lantern in a club or art class? The Creative Alliance is hosting drop-in lantern workshops at the Creativity Center on Sunday, October 18 from 12 to 3pm and Wednesday, October 21 from 4 to 7pm. All ages are welcome, all supplies are provided. Questions about the parade? Reach out to Ms. Danica (dramirez@abbschool.com) or Ms. Seal (kristenkseal@gmail.com).
Annual Book Fair: Tomorrow is the last day to shop our annual book fair!
Students can bring cash or use their e-wallet to shop in person without cash. Please follow the instructions to set up your child's e-wallet account for a smooth checkout.

Nurse's Office: If your child shows any signs of illness, such as a fever, vomiting, an unexplained rash, or diarrhea, please keep them at home. They should not return until they have been symptom- and fever-free without the use of medication for at least 24 hours. If your child is absent for more than three consecutive days, a doctor's note will be required.
In the case that your child is sent home sick, they must remain symptom-free and fever-free without medication for a full 24 hours before returning. For example, if they were sent home on Tuesday, they will need to be absent on Wednesday and can return on Thursday if they show no symptoms or fever.
Please inform the office and/or the HR teacher if your child will be absent, has an appointment, or is feeling unwell. If your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease such as the flu, strep throat, or norovirus, please contact Nurse Grace so that we can take the necessary steps to protect our community.
Additionally, dental services through OHIP will be available at ABS on Wednesday, October 21, for those students who qualify for these services.
Costume Parade: Friday, October 30th, is our annual costume parade day. At 10:00 AM, students will take part in a parade around the block. We encourage students to wear school-appropriate costumes, no masks, violent, scary, or gory costumes are allowed. Also, we kindly ask that no food, candy, or snacks be handed out. Thank you for your cooperation.
