September 2025
LISD Families,
As September unfolds, I am reminded daily of the incredible energy that fills our classrooms throughout each day. From our youngest learners taking their first steps into a classroom to our seniors preparing for life after graduation, there is a sense of promise and possibility across every campus.
Already this fall, I have seen our theme, One Choice. One LISD, come to life in meaningful ways. I’ve watched students explore new opportunities in the fine arts, challenge themselves in advanced courses, and begin career pathways that will shape their futures. I’ve seen families filling the stands and auditoriums to support their children, and teachers creating classrooms where every student feels known, valued, and inspired to succeed. These moments reflect what makes LISD so special, a community united in its commitment to our students.
I encourage you this fall to stay engaged in your child’s journey and take part in the many events and experiences happening across our district. Our feeder newsletters recently should’ve hit your inbox, giving a preview of the many exciting activities happening this fall. Your involvement helps make LISD stronger and shows our students that they are surrounded by a community that believes in them.
Thank you for choosing LISD, for your family, for your future, and for the opportunities that only our district can provide. Together, we are shaping tomorrow’s learners and leaders, and ensuring every student has the chance to thrive.
Lori Rapp, Ed.D.

Family Rights & Engagement
At Lewisville ISD, we believe education is a shared responsibility of students, staff, and community. Recent updates from the 89th Legislative Session reaffirm the important role parents and guardians play in their child’s education. Texas law outlines parental rights in the Education Code, including opportunities to stay informed, ask questions, and, in some cases, request that a child be excused from certain activities or instruction. Families can stay engaged and informed by reviewing the details on the LISD Website, as well as the LISD Student Handbook.
Staff Directories
To help keep staff safe from cyber threats, we’ve updated how contact information is shared online. Families will continue to connect with teachers and staff through our existing communication tools, and we’re refreshing the staff introduction pages so families can match names with faces.
Friday nights in LISD shine bright as more than 6,000 students take center stage showcasing their talents, passions and unstoppable school spirit with our communities. Get engaged!

LISD App
As a reminder, LISD families and staff now have access to our new Lewisville ISD app. The app gives families access to grades, attendance, lunch menus, bus routes, emergency notifications…and more! Click HERE to download on the Apple App Store and HERE to download on the Google Play Store. Or search "Lewisville ISD" in either app store.
Did you know in Texas, all students must complete certain core classes, including English, math, science, and social studies, to graduate. In addition, they are required to earn an endorsement, a series of courses aligned with their interests or career goals. As students enter 8th grade, they will select one endorsement from five areas: Arts & Humanities, Business & Industry, Public Service, STEM, or Multidisciplinary. This choice is an important part of preparing for graduation and future opportunities. For details about endorsements in LISD, click HERE.

Communication Flow Chart
In Lewisville ISD, we believe the best way to ensure all students are confident, equipped with the knowledge and skills to adapt and thrive for their future is by encouraging open and honest conversation between families and district staff. To efficiently address any concern families may have, we strongly encourage all communication to begin at the most direct level. Visit LISD the website to view LISD's protocol for contacting administrators.
Communication Commitments
LISD is committed to building positive partnerships between our staff and the communities we serve though positive and clear communication, acting as a bridge for community engagement which leads to effective outcomes. When our staff and community work together, we set our students up for success, ensuring they are future ready. Visit the LISD website to view LISD's communication commitments.

"I chose Lewisville ISD because I grew up in Lewisville ISD -- from kindergarten to high school. I've always loved the community and culture that our schools carry. I went to Indian Creek, Arbor Creek and Hebron High School, now I'm teaching at Killian, so this feeder pattern and LISD has always been home." - Ava Parker, 6th Grade World Cultures Teacher at Killian Middle School
