A Message From Mr. Hansel and Mrs.Crone
Cadet Community,
Welcome back, Cadets!
We’re excited to kick off second semester and finish this year strong. This is a fresh start, a chance to refocus, and an opportunity to make the most of every day ahead. Let’s bring the energy, the effort, and the pride that make Cascade special.
Seniors—take it all in. These final moments go fast, and you’re almost to the finish line. Stay locked in, support one another, and enjoy every milestone along the way.
Let’s show up, show out, and make this second semester one to remember. 💙
Let’s go Cadets!
Show Up & Show Out,
Mr. Hansel and Mrs. Crone
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On March 4th, all juniors will be taking the SAT on campus. To provide them with a quiet, focused, and less hectic testing environment, we are offering the rest of our students the flexibility to participate in college and career readiness (CCR) activities of their choice off-campus.
For students who are unable to arrange off-campus activities, we will have engaging CCR opportunities available at school. This approach not only supports our juniors during testing but also gives all students an authentic, real-world experience related to their future plans.
For Juniors:
After completing the SAT, juniors will be allowed to leave campus to participate in CCR activities or stay at school to engage in on-campus activities.
To help us plan accordingly, we are sending out a form for parents to complete, letting us know what option their student will be participating in.
Thank you for your support in making this a productive day for all our students.

Message from Student Services
Upon returning to school on Monday, January 5, all students should locate their Period 1 teacher’s name posted on the wall, near the front and back entrances, and report directly to that classroom. Students will receive a paper copy of their schedule, which will include locker information. Please note that most student schedules and lunch shifts will change from Semester 1 to Semester 2. Class schedules are very tight, and changes are not anticipated to be granted.
Grades will be finalized by midnight on January 5. Counselors will adjust schedules as needed for failures or diploma requirements shortly after students return.
The Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy is a week-long summer program that offers students in grades 9–12 the opportunity to experience a law enforcement academy environment led by troopers from the Indiana State Police. Participants will engage in hands-on training and demonstrations, including Crime Scene Investigation, Firearms Simulation, Self-Defense, Traffic Stop Tactics, a SWAT demonstration, K-9 handling, and an introduction to scuba operations.
The academy is held at Anderson University. The cost to families is $50; the remaining $350 program fee is covered by the American Legion.
Additional information and registration details can be found on the program website.

Policies and Handbook
As we continue our journey towards a successful school year, we want to remind you of some important policies that help ensure a positive and focused learning environment for everyone. These expectations are in place not only for your success at Cascade but to prepare you for success beyond our doors.
-
Cell Phones: Please remember that cell phones are not allowed during class time. They should be turned off or silenced and kept in your locker or bag during instructional periods. We want to ensure your full attention is on your learning and the classroom environment.
-
Backpacks: For safety and organizational purposes, backpacks are not permitted in classrooms. Please store them in your locker at the beginning of each day.
Food Delivery: We do not allow food deliveries, including services like DoorDash, to be delivered to the school. Please make arrangements to bring food from home or purchase from the school cafeteria.
-
Vape Policy: Cascade High School maintains a strict no-vaping policy. Vaping is prohibited on school grounds and at school events. Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary actions.
-
Addiction Support: If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please remember that we partner with the Willow Center to offer confidential support and resources. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
-
Punctuality and Respect: It is expected that all students are on time for each class and show respect towards their peers, teachers, and all staff members. Respecting each other creates a positive learning environment for everyone.
At Cascade, our goal is to equip you with the skills and values necessary for success. We believe in your potential and expect you to meet these standards to help you grow into responsible and successful young adults.
