"It's a great day to be a Panther"
News & Notes from the Principal
Happy Friday DKMS families! It was a great week here in the middle school!
I am starting to have scheduling discussions with our teachers and students for the 2026/2027 school year. I was able to talk with most of the 6th graders and all of the 7th graders about selecting their third RASL class for next school year. For our current 6th and 7th grade parents, if you have your child log into PowerSchool and click the "Class Registration" link on the left side of the screen, it will explain the RASL selection process. Please make sure your child has made their RASL choice by Friday April 2, 2026. If you have any questions please reach out to me either via email at bobby.tillman@dkschools.org or by phone at (269) 623-1544.
We will have Parent/Teacher conferences next week Thursday March 12, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Conferences are a great opportunity to hear about your child's progress academically and socially. The teachers' conference links are below. We hope to see you Thursday night!
As always, I would like to thank our students, staff, families, and community for their hard work and support. I'm extremely proud of the work our students put into planning our 7th and 8th grade dance. Also, a big thank you to the staff and families who helped make their Starry Night come true!
Have a great weekend!
It's a great day to be a PANTHER!!!
Thank you,

Field Trip Volunteer Reminder
Parents and guardians who plan to volunteer or chaperone on upcoming field trips must have a completed volunteer form on file before attending. For student safety, all forms must be submitted and approved prior to the trip.
Please turn in completed volunteer forms to the school office as soon as possible to ensure everything is ready before field trip day. If you have questions or need a form, feel free to contact the office or find a printable form below.
Thank you for supporting our students and helping make field trips safe and successful!
🐾 Panther Paw Drawing Winners🐾
Great job to our weekly Panther Paw winners! These students showed they are Safe, Kind, Respectful, and Responsible. After turning in their Panther Paws for Jolly Ranchers, they were entered into our Friday drawing for a special treat. Thanks for helping make our school such a positive place!
Way to Show Up, Panthers!
Our “Strive for 95” challenge has officially wrapped up! These students earned a donut by being here every single day. Great job to everyone for working hard to get to school each day. We’re proud of you!
Dipped in Creativity
Mr. Gailey’s 5th grade art students have been hard at work creating clay wind chimes, and now they’re taking them to the next level with hydro dipping! Students are exploring color mixing and creative design as they dip their projects to create unique, one-of-a-kind patterns.
Learning for Fun
A big shout out to 6th grader Mason Glasgow! On his own time, Mason has been creating a large map featuring the continents of Africa and Europe simply for fun. We love seeing students take initiative and explore their interests outside of class assignments. Great job Mason, your map shows real creativity and effort.
Cooper Spreads Some Cheer
Cooper the DKMS therapy dog made a quick visit to Mr. Carlson’s 5th grade class this week. The surprise stop brought lots of smiles and the students loved spending a few minutes with him.

Support the DKMS Panther Den! 🐾
The Panther Den at Delton Kellogg Middle School helps students by providing snacks, clothing, shoes, toiletries, and other essential items they may need. To continue supporting our students, we rely on donations to replenish and restock the Panther Den as supplies run low.
The middle school has created a Panther Den Amazon Wishlist to make it easy to contribute. Each donation helps us provide students with the essentials for a successful school year.

Let’s Highlight Our Students!
We know our students are involved in many activities and achievements outside of school that we may not always hear about. If your student has a success or accomplishment you’d like to share—such as sports, music, art, clubs, or other activities—we’d love to help celebrate it!
If you’d like your student featured in the newsletter, please email a short description of their achievement along with a photo to tammy.whitmore@dkschools.org. Let’s celebrate all the amazing things our students are doing! ⭐
