Dear Bear Creek Families,
Costume Day in October 30th. This is also Fall Party Day. Please make sure that you are coordinating any food donations with your PTA Room Parent or Classroom Teacher. We are careful to honor the dietary guidelines for our students. Having a coordinated list of treats for party days managed through our room parents can assure that we are in compliance with medical and religious needs.
We are excited to host a Bear Creek VETERANS DAY Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11th. Our 4th grade students will be performing and selected 5th graders will assist with special readings. Due to the limited size of our cafeteria, we request that guests are limited to our 4th grade families, any Veteran of the US Armed Forces, and their families. Please look below for further details about this special day at Bear Creek.
Sincerely,
Principal

Big Thanks to Our Bear Creek Dads & Crew!
A sunny Sunday of teamwork, campus improvements, and delicious campout-style hotdogs
What a fantastic Sunday on campus! A massive thank you to the 7 Dads and 12 energetic kids who came out to give our school grounds some extra love during our latest Campus Cleanup.
The weather was absolutely perfect, the kids had a blast rolling up their sleeves to help, and the team wrapped up a productive morning enjoying some delicious campout-style hotdogs together!
What They Accomplished
Here is a quick look at everything our amazing volunteers tackled:
Roosevelt Weed Pruning: Our team cleared out as many weeds as possible inside the gate surrounding the big playground, along with trimming back those creeping through and over the fence line.
Picnic Table Restoration: The outdoor picnic tables needed a lot of care! The team repaired and thoroughly sanded them down, then gave a fresh coat of stain to the two tables near the playground. The picnic tables look fantastic!
Sports Equipment Rescue: Mission accomplished! The crew successfully rescued 5 or 6 missing pieces of sports gear from bushes and hard-to-reach spots, getting them ready for recess action again.
Debris Removal & Rock "Re-Homing": The team swept through the basketball court to clear away accumulated leaves and gravel in the corners. The team also hunted down stray rocks scattered in the grass areas and re-homed them safely back into the rock gardens.
General Campus Trash Pickup: To top it off, everyone pitched in for a general sweep of the grounds, leaving the entire campus clean, tidy, and welcoming for the week ahead.
October 21st was Unity Day, the banner day of Bullying Prevention Month. Throughout the month of October, Mr. Albrecht and I have focused on educating students about bullying -- what it is and what they can do about it. On Unity Day, students and staff wore orange to celebrate campus unity and the traits of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Check out the gigantic bear cub paw that every child helped make during counseling lessons. It symbolizes our interconnected school community and that everyone belongs here!
