Student access to their top course choices
Thank you for taking the time to complete your registration and helping us plan for a strong 2025–2026 school year!
As always, thank you for your partnership and Mustang pride!

Action Item: High School Drop Deadline
Middle School students enrolled in the high school credit courses listed below, have the opportunity to drop the course so that the course and grade do not appear on the high school transcript. The deadline to make this change is Wednesday, April 23, 2025. In order to make this change, please reach out to your child's teacher for the appropriate course. Counselors will change the student to a middle school credit course with the same teacher in the same period, so no changes will be made to their physical schedule.
With a month left of projects, tests, and a midterm, this can be a difficult decision to make. Please contact your child's teacher to make sure you understand your child's progress and options. If you would like to drop the course please sign the Opt Out form from your child's teacher.
Students who remain in the course past the deadline will have the class and the grade posted on the high school transcript and will have the grade calculated in their high school Cumulative GPA. Cumulative GPA is the numerical average of the points assigned to every grade the student has earned. The Cumulative GPA is based on ALL classes the student has taken. Advanced/AP/Honors courses are weighted on a 5.0 scale. All other classes are on a 4.0 scale. GPAs can be viewed in Naviance, but it is not used to determine rank. GPAs will appear on transcripts sent to colleges. New class rankings and GPA’s are generated after each semester. More information regarding GPA calculation can be found on the below link Austin ISD Master Catalog look for Appendix A page 165.

Course Verification Instructions
Course Verification listings are the course requests that we will attempt to schedule for you for the 2025-2026 school year. This is not your class schedule: you will receive that on the first day of school.
It is very important that you review this list carefully and make sure to read the entire document. We will not be making “change of mind” class changes in August since student’s choices affect staffing and the master schedule. If you find any errors or would like to make a change, parent/guardians should complete the Course Verification Changes form included in the links below.
When requesting a change please indicate what course(s) you want to drop and the course(s) that you want to add. Please review the important information further below before submitting a course change. If you have no changes, no response is required.
Due date to submit a course change(s) to counselor: Monday, April 28th 2025
If "ACES" is the only course listed: this indicates that we need a completed choice sheet as soon as possible. You can find this information at https://secure.smore.com/n/ref0u-o-henry-middle-school If your child does not plan to attend O. Henry next year, please email our lead counselor, rachel.price@austinisd.org with the school you will attend next year.
