Message from the Superintendent to Cowern, Richardson, and North High Families

Hello Families,
The North St. Paul - Maplewood – Oakdale School District has become aware that the criminal charge against William Haslach, has moved to Federal court. William Haslach, a former employee of Independent School District #622 has been charged with using AI to produce morphed sexual abuse images of children in his care, as well as with possessing and receiving child pornography. Mr. Haslach was a recess and traffic monitor at Cowern Elementary, Richardson Elementary and North High School. William Haslach was terminated in January 2025 and is currently detained in federal custody.
The district takes the safety and security of our students extremely seriously. We have been cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation and will continue to do so as the process unfolds. We understand the gravity of these charges and remain committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our students.
