Heights Auction Staff Experience 2026
Our Heights PTA Auction is coming up on April 11th, and one of the highlights each year is our Staff Experiences! These are always some of the most popular items and truly make a lasting impact for our students and families.
If you would be willing to donate an experience, please take a moment to fill out the form below.
A few important things to note:
- Experiences are paid for by Heights staff.
- They do NOT have to be expensive—simple experiences like having a snack at the park with a student are just as meaningful and appreciated.
- We discourage staff members from transporting students in their own vehicles.
- If you are interested in purchasing a half-price ticket to the auction, please indicate that in the notes section of the form.
Thank you for considering supporting this special event and for always going above and beyond for our students!
Weekly Planning & PLC Schedule
To better support your instructional flow and collaboration, we are adding a Common Planning Day the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month, while our PLC meetings will remain every Wednesday. This will start after Spring Break as we kick off 4th quarter.
The goal of this shift is to create a clear distinction between looking forward and looking back:
Tuesday Common Planning: This is your time to design the upcoming week. Use this time for grade-level coordination on lessons, transformation days, field trips, special events, etc. You are highly encouraged to invite Admin, Coaches, the IB Coordinator, Intervention Specialists, or the PBIS Coordinator to these sessions to help refine your activities and classroom strategies.
Wednesday PLC: These sessions will remain dedicated to focus on analyzing assessments and student data to drive our instruction, interventions and growth.
March 24th & April 7th are the first two Common Planning Days
🏎️Pit Stop PD: The Mirror Effect
Theme: If we want more from them, we must model more for them.
1. Instruction: From "Telling" to "Task-Modeling"
High expectations for ourselves means we don't just give instructions; we provide a "Gold Standard" roadmap.
The Self-Expectation: I will never ask students to do a task I haven't attempted myself.
The Engagement Strategy: Show your "Think-Aloud." If you want them to write a persuasive paragraph, draft one live on the board—mistakes and all. When they see you struggle and revise, the "ceiling" for their own work rises.
2. Engagement: The "First 5" Rule
High expectations for ourselves means taking 100% ownership of the classroom energy from the moment the bell rings.
The Self-Expectation: I will greet every student by name and have a "Hook" ready that isn't just "Open your books."
The Engagement Strategy: Use a Response Trigger. Instead of asking, "Does everyone understand?", use a high-engagement check like "Fist-to-Five" or "Whiteboard Waterfall."
Quick Tip: If engagement is low, ask yourself: "Would I want to be a student in my class today?" If the answer is "maybe," pivot to a gamified review or a quick movement break.
3. Feedback: The 4-to-1 Ratio
Great teachers expect themselves to be coaches, not just graders.
The Self-Expectation: I will provide four positive reinforcements for every one corrective piece of feedback.
The Engagement Strategy: Micro-Feedback. Instead of waiting a week to return papers, spend your "walk-around" time during independent work giving "on-the-spot" stickers or verbal "glows."
Quick Tip: Use a "Feedback Loop." Ask a student: "What is one thing I could do to make this lesson clearer for you?" That is a high-expectation move.
