🎃 Celebrate with Us Next Week!

Happy Friday, Riverside Families!

We are excited to celebrate together at Riverside next week! Students may wear their Halloween costumes to school all day on October 30. Each classroom will have its own fun activities and celebrations throughout the day.

A quick reminder: masks or costume pieces that completely cover a student’s face may not be worn during the school day. We need to be able to see students’ faces throughout the day for safety and supervision.

We also know that not every family celebrates Halloween, and that is perfectly okay! Students are welcome to participate in the school-day activities in whatever way feels comfortable for their family. Our goal is for everyone to feel included and have a fun day at Riverside.

We’ll also come together as a whole building for our PM Trunk-or-Treat from 4:30–6:00 p.m. Families are welcome to join us!

🚗 Want to decorate a car? Come at 4:00 p.m. to get your trunk ready for our Trunk-or-Treat.

🍬 Trunk-or-Treat Lap: Students will make one lap around our decorated cars to collect treats. After completing their lap, students are welcome to head to the playground and enjoy some time playing with their friends.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our Riverside families!

Stay Connected with Riverside Elementary

Our Facebook page is an additional resource for important school information, updates, reminders, and celebrations! We welcome all of our Riverside families to join the Riverside Elementary Facebook page and stay connected with everything happening at our school.

At Riverside, we strive to communicate openly with our families and build a strong school community. Together, we can create a positive foundation where our students, families, and staff feel connected, supported, and valued.

We are so thankful to have you as part of our Riverside family!!

Children are welcome to enter the building each day at 8:00 a.m. to enjoy breakfast and begin their day in a calm, structured environment, ready for learning.

Please note that all students who arrive between 8:00 and 8:20 a.m. will remain in the cafeteria and enjoy breakfast during this time. Students will not be permitted to go to their lockers or access other areas of the building until breakfast time has ended.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a calm and successful start to each school day!

We have some attendance information that we would like to bring to your attention:

• If your student will be absent, please call the absence line @ 565-4701 and leave a detailed message.
• If your student is late for school or needs to leave early, please make sure that you sign your student in or out on our computer.
• If your student has been absent and has a doctor's note, please bring that into the office, as soon as possible.
• If your student is going to be absent for any length of time, please come into the office and fill out an extended absence form.

🐝 Learning About Nature in Ms. Kline’s Class! 🐝

Ms. Kline’s class had an exciting opportunity to explore a bald-faced hornets’ nest! Students discovered that the nest is made from a paper-like material and contains hundreds of tiny cells, or “little rooms,” where the eggs are laid.

What a fun, hands-on way to learn about nature and the amazing things insects create! 🌿🔍

From magnets and mugs to tote bags and more, there are so many fun products to choose from! With many items priced under $15, it’s a great opportunity to create meaningful keepsakes and even get a head start on holiday shopping! 🎁
