Middle/High School Update
Looking Ahead to the 25-26 School Year!

Inspiring every student, through every experience, every day
Meet the Principal and Assistant Principal
Mr. Nicholas Ramcheck - Principal
It is a pleasure to join the Westfield School District as the new Middle and High School principal for the upcoming year. My background as an educator has allowed me to work with thousands of different students in a variety of content areas with significant experience in curricular development and building connections. Beyond this, I have coached multiple different sports and other extracurricular activities at both the middle school and varsity levels, sharing my personal experiences in a meaningful way to help our students reach their full potential as individuals.
As a former science teacher, I believe that curiosity is the spark that ignites learning and personally attempt to embrace this value in all aspects of my practice. My personal hope is to foster this in our students, staff, and community as we work together to move forward into our future. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate and hope to continue to learn from the experiences everyone can bring to the table.
Outside of the classroom, I participate in a wide variety of hobbies and activities, always willing to try and learn something new. I share many of these activities with my wife and two children. Some of my favorites include many board games, any competitive sport, building furniture in my woodshop, and travelling to as many places as possible. I look forward to meeting each of you and contributing to this wonderful community.
Mr. Darrin Berger - Assistant Principal
I’m thrilled to join the School District of Westfield, bringing with me 15 years of experience in education. My professional background includes work in special education, academic and behavioral intervention, social-emotional learning, and coaching a variety of sports.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, son, and our dog. I’m also an avid reader and enjoy golfing, hunting, fishing, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams. I look forward to connecting with students, families, and staff, and becoming an active member of both the school and broader community. I’m deeply committed to building strong, positive relationships and fostering a supportive environment where every student can grow and succeed.
6th Grade Boot Camp
Middle School Boot Camp has proven to be a wonderful time for incoming students to get a great introduction to our building over the past number of years. The transition between buildings can be an intimidating one. This program is designed to help ease this event as your 6th grade student comes to join our community at the middle school.
Our 6th grade staff present a wonderful introduction to the building by providing introductions as their new teachers, doing team-building activities to help foster student relationships, and practicing procedures that are in place around the school. Knowing some of this ahead of time can provide a great comfort as we start the year. It provides a wonderful opportunity to jumpstart their middle school experience.
With the wonderful updates to our school over this summer, our Boot Camp is being pushed back a bit. This year we will be hosting it on August 29th, 2025 this year from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. We invite all 6th grade students to come and participate for free! Based on past experience, students who come are far less stressed the first week of school and feel much more prepared stepping through our doors when school starts!
You may note that this is a shorter timeframe than the last few years, but this is simply due to ensuring we have the time to get our building ready after our updates conclude this summer. To help our students, we will be incorporating some parts of our program into our first few days of school to ensure everyone has a great transition.
Keep an eye out on your email for registration information! If your child is not signed up to attend Boot Camp, no worries. They can still attend by simply showing up at the Middle/High School!
