Bren Bataclan Byam Art Mural Unveiling

Thank you to our Artist In Residence Bren Bataclan!

Byam students and staff had the wonderful and unique opportunity all week to observe Artist-In-Residence Bren Bataclan in action while he immersed Byam 3R's and students' classroom artwork themes into four canvases to display in our Byam building for all to see! The student-created artwork was made for Bren to recreate during his engaging Byam all-school presentation assemblies.

Students finished out the week with a classroom visit "gallery walk" to view the finished four canvases and both listen to artist Mr. Bataclan as he described the process of creating the finished artwork, as well as the opportunity to ask questions.

Thank you to our BSA for organizing and sponsoring this Byam enrichment opportunity!

Green & Lucky Day!

CPS custodial substitute Jeff Goor celebrated with Byam our wear green on St. Patrick's Day and shared his leprechaun lullaby "Too-La

To Catch A Leprechaun!

All of our 2nd grade students took part in engaging classroom planning and creation of "Leprechaun traps". Overnight traces of shenanigans were discovered when students came back into school this morning!

Message for our 4th Grade Families regarding 4th Grade Year Book Photos Request

A reminder below from our Byam 4th grade year book committee!

Attention 4th Grade Families! As hard as this reality is hitting that our kiddos are moving onto Middle School in five short months, it’s time we start thinking about all those year end activities! An important 4th Grade tradition is the yearbook! The Yearbook Committee is already hard at work but we need your help! Below you will find a link to our Google drive which holds all those little and not so little anymore faces. Please continue to add your photos to the drive so all students can be well represented in their yearbook! Please be mindful of the following:

  • Photos of School events only(no outside birthday parties, playdates, town sports, etc)

  • When uploading please “Rename” the photos to show who is in each photo and if you can which event/grade the photo takes place. This is helpful when we start organizing into certain pages!

  • We are accepting photos from “Remote Learning” which can obviously be photos of those 1st and 2nd grade years at home!

I know some have had difficulty adding to the Google Drive and if that is the case please feel free to email me at Shannon.decker88@gmail.com We cannot make this yearbook without your help and hope it’s something to look back on for years to come!

Gentle Reminder for students

We remind students that toys, stuffed animals, pokemon cards, etc. need to stay at home or in backpacks unless there is a specific permission or classroom activity planned by their teacher. Toys or trading cards that make their way out to recess are often inadvertently broken or misplaced and can be a barrier to a smooth transition back to classroom learning after recess. Thank you for your support.

Two Byam Marathoners Run for A Great Cause

We have two Byam staff members running in this year's marathon and parents have asked for links to support their cause. Byam 2nd grade teacher Larissa Weeks and Byam lunch-recess aide Emily Dilworth both are running to raise funds for Tedy's Team.

Attention Parents/Guardians Please Read!

Keep our BSA Strong for the Kids! GET INVOLVED WITH THE BSA!

We are humbly asking parents to consider volunteering for one small task each year. If your child is attending an event, please keep an eye out for future sign-up forms. Many responsible students can also help with parent supervision! In addition to event volunteers, here are a few larger roles we are looking to fill. We will teach you the ropes and "ease" you in. If any of these interest you, email bsa.chelmsford@gmail.com!

~Sincerely, your BSA Board
