EHS grades move up; seniors say farewell
Elizabeth High School continued its end-of-year tradition on Friday with its Changing of the Guard ceremony. In every assembly during the school year, each grade level has its own corner of the stands, but for the Changing of the Guard, the assembly begins with the soon-to-graduate seniors absent.
Assistant Principal John Everhart gave each class a quote to think about for next year and then directed the juniors to move to the senior seating area, the sophomores to fill the junior section, and the freshman to move over the sophomore spot. After that, the entire faculty gathered on the court to welcome all of the seniors to shake hands, hug and say farewell to their teachers.
Following the smiles, tears and congratulations, the dividing wall for the auxiliary gym raised, and students were able to get their hands on their much-anticipated yearbooks.
