Blue Rapids Elementary
It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids
It has been an exciting week at Blue Rapids Elementary. On Wednesday the student body attended a sneak peek of the high school play Murder on the 518 at the Waterville Opera House. The students enjoyed the performance as the high school students did an outstanding job. I encourage everyone to attend the play this weekend and to support our local high school drama students. Parents, as a reminder our annual Thanksgiving meal is next week Friday the 21st. This past week we celebrated Veterans Day at Valley Heights. Major props to the KAYS organization and guest speaker Jerry Zayas for their outstanding Veterans Day presentation on Tuesday. We talked as a student body at Jumpstart about what we can learn from our Veterans. We are thankful for our veterans and the sacrifices they have made for our great country.
Please take note of the important dates below.

Miss Jayne's Character Ed
Miss Jayne visited with Mrs. Reinecke's 4th grade class during Character Ed. The lesson was about gratitude. Students took a look in the mirror to discover things that they were grateful for about themselves. They filled their treasure boxes with these things. They added a compact mirror with an affirmation on the back of it to their "take a minute" tool kits. Thank you Miss Jayne!!

We’d like to remind families to discuss a safe route to school with your students. Whether it is on foot, bike, or a car we want everyone to arrive to and from school safely! For students on foot and bike remember that the safest crossings are at Chestnut & Highway 77 in Blue Rapids and Minnesota & Highway 77 in Waterville.
These crossings are monitored both before and after school.
