Enrollment Balancing Update
Our third and final community engagement survey opportunity closed on May 31, 2026. We are grateful to the 450 community members who participated and helped us identify the redistricting priorities that align with the feelings of as many families as possible.
In our last newsletter, we shared the priorities that had been gathered at that point and after recalibrating priorities from the final survey results, our community priorities remained the same and are as follows:
Attempt to create boundaries that assign students to their closest school
Attempt to create boundaries that keep neighborhoods together
Attempt to create boundaries that align feeder patterns
Attempt to create boundaries that move as few students as possible
Our project is now moving into the modeling phase, where boundary options provided by our third party consultant, Woolpert, will be reviewed. For the next several weeks, our transportation department and District leaders will be analyzing the boundary models and scoring them based on District and community identified priorities. This analysis will be used to determine the best model for implementation in the 2027-28 school year. The outcome will be shared directly with impacted schools and community members and then more broadly for the whole District after the start of the 2026-27 school year.
