The Bulldog Bark
March 6, 2026
It is already March and almost time for Spring Break! This week, our 2nd grade students took the IREAD3 test. Next week, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students that need to take IREAD3 will take the test. We should get results within a few days. We will communicate results to families soon after receiving them!
Coming up in grades 3-5, we'll have the ILEARN Checkpoint 3 tests. Students will test in ELA and Math, as we prepare for the year end test in April/May that goes over all Standards taught this year.
Please make sure your child has headphones at school.

Discovery Awaits!
Crown Point Community School Corporation is thrilled to welcome the future class of 2039! If your child will be five years old on or before August 1, 2026, and you live in the district boundaries, we invite you to enroll for kindergarten online on February 24th.
More information is available on our website at www.cps.k12.in.us/kindergarten.
End of 3rd Nine Weeks
Crown Point Community Schools officially report grades at the end of each semester so that students have a longer time to demonstrate what they know and can do. Our focus is on mastery learning and supporting a growth mindset in our learners.
Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions about their progress or to learn more about how you can partner with us to support your child’s academic development.
The end of the third 9 weeks is Friday, March 13, 2026. While parents can always monitor their child's progress through our Buzz Learning Management System, this review period at the end of the 9 weeks is a great opportunity to assess how your child is doing. There will still be plenty of time to ask for help if needed, complete work, and bring grades up before the end of the semester when grades are finalized. If you have not yet verified your email address in Buzz, this is an important step to ensure that you are receiving all relevant alerts and information about your child’s progress. Instructions for accessing Buzz are linked here. The end of the semester is May 29, 2026.
We're Collecting Strack & Van Til receipts
We are collecting your receipts from shopping at Strack and Van Til! We turn in these receipts and they earn us points to buy school equipment for recess and classroom use! Please turn in your receipts from now until December to help us earn points! Simply send your receipts to school with your child. The grade level with the most points will win a prize!
PTO Corner
Thanks to everyone that attended Chipotle this week for our fundraiser! The students had a great time and made some wonderful artwork!

Arrival & Dismissal
**If you need to help your child buckle when picking them up in the PM (K-5), please pull up when directed and pull into a spot on the right to be able to help your child. This will help keep the line moving efficiently**
For K-5 Car Arrival and Dismissal, see the map below. Cars should enter the WEST parking lot from Summit Street. Enter on the left side, drive along the left, follow the curb and wait for staff unloading or loading instructions. Please do not exit your vehicle. When entering from Summit, two parallel car lines should be formed, and lines should MERGE AFTER the curve in the back. Please stay close to the curb to allow for as many cars as possible.
Preschool Car Arrival and Dismissal is at the EAST lot. Enter the lot and stop at the cone to wait for directions from a staff member. When unloading, do not leave the lot until the cars in front of you leave. DO NOT drive around other cars that are dropping off students.
- K-5 Car riders should be dropped off at the WEST doors, when directed by staff.
- Staff members will load cars in the afternoon.
- Please display your car tag to ensure a quick car loading time. (Car tags will be distributed by the school).
- Please do not exit your car, as this slows down arrival and drop off. DO NOT drive around other cars that are dropping off students.
Thank you for your patience, especially during the first few days!
If you are changing your child's dismissal procedure, please call the office by 1pm. In an effort to get messages to teachers in a timely manner and to ensure the safety of all students at dismissal, we are implementing a cut off time of 1pm for PM dismissal changes. Thank you for your help!
Doors open for students to enter in the morning at 8:45am for the school day. If your child is walking or riding their bike, please help them estimate time to make sure they don't arrive too early. Students are not supervised outside before 8:45am. Students cannot play with any toys/sports balls on school property before school.
If you are picking up your child in a car after school (K-5), we have a car line pick up lot. This area is supervised by staff members and is the safest place for dismissal. If you choose not to use this lot and to use the Crown Point city streets, please follow street parking rules, including no blocking driveways.
