Congratulations to the Mighty Florence Band! 🎶🦬
What a tremendous marching season for the Mighty Florence Band! Our students continued their tradition of excellence, earning a First Division rating at the UIL Region 32 Marching Contest for the SIXTH consecutive year! They also brought home 2nd place finishes at both the Comal and Vista Ridge Marching Contests and delivered an outstanding performance at the Area Marching Contest this past Saturday!
Year after year, our band sets a high standard for excellence, and they make it look like a whole lot of fun along the way! From incredible performances on the competition field to bringing the energy, excitement, and Buffalo spirit every Friday night, this group does it all!
Congratulations to our talented students, dedicated directors, and incredible band supporters on another fantastic season! We couldn't be more proud of the way you represent Florence High School.
You work hard, have fun, and make being part of the Mighty Florence Band something special!
Go Buffs! 💚🎶
Construction Class visits CTC
On Monday, October 19th, students in the Dual Credit Construction class at Florence High School visited Central Texas College. They toured technical training facilities and explored several hands-on programs offered at CTC, including plumbing, HVAC, welding, and diesel technology. The trip provided valuable insight into high-demand career paths and post-graduation trade options.
Financial Literacy at FHS
Preparing for Life: Financial Literacy at FHS
At Florence High School, we believe preparing students for life after graduation means more than earning a diploma. It means equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make good decisions in the real world.
All FHS seniors taking Economics this fall are working through Dave Ramsey's personal finance curriculum! Through this program, students are learning valuable life skills, including budgeting, saving money, understanding credit and debt, investing, and making wise financial decisions.
Whether our graduates are headed to college, a technical school, the military, or directly into the workforce, these are skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
Parents, we encourage you to ask your senior what they are learning in Economics! Have a conversation about budgeting, saving, or financial decisions you have made. These discussions are a great way to connect classroom learning to real-life experiences.
At FHS, we want our students prepared not just to graduate, but to succeed in whatever comes next. Financial literacy is one more way we are helping make that happen!
