AVA Family Update
September 9, 2024
Good afternoon AVA Students and Families,
It looks like everyone has had a pretty successful start this week. If you feel differently, please contact me at the contact info below.
I have next week's schedule and several other important announcements.
1. Students who require help (needing something unlocked or there's a problem with their course in Edgenuity, in addition to content area help) should reach out to their teachers. They can find who is responsible for the class in Aspen and the teacher's contact info is available below.
2. We are having a brief Virtual Back to School Night For Families on Thursday from 6-8 PM. We do this in conjunction with the High School, so teachers are only available for a few minutes. Ms. Ng our guidance counselor and I will be available as well. I will publish a list of the times the teachers are available next week so it's at the top of your email with all the appropriate google meet links. If you have questions, want to see the faces of your child's teachers, or hear a blurb about the courses, please consider joining us.
I have also included information from guidance below. It will be a regular feature of the update. This week it contains all the info you need about SAT testing this year.
In addition to this, an important dates section is included at the end of the email. Please review it to stay informed. Thank you for your time.

SAT Registration
In general, it is recommended that high school students who are thinking about college take an admissions test twice: once in spring of junior year and once again in fall of senior year (so that there is study time during that summer).
For SAT registration, please click HERE to select a date and register. Also, as noted last year, the AHS campus serves as an official SAT testing site, but seats have been filling up extremely fast. Oct. 5 is already reportedly full at AHS. Please click HERE to check seat availability on a specific test day for a specific location. The Attleboro zip code is 02703. Last, the SAT test has since gone fully digital. Students can bring and use a personal computer, but you must download and install the Collegeboard's Bluebook App weeks prior to the testing date. Click HERE to download Bluebook and learn more.
*Students who need to borrow a device from College Board will need to register and request their device earlier than the registration deadline—at least 30 days before test day.
Welcome back to school, and as always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a great weekend!
