Jet's Pizza Night October 9th!
On Thursday October 9th - Wass is having a fundraising day/night at Jet's Pizza (located at 18 and dequindre)
All you need to do is order and show the flyer and Wass will receive a kickback. This is open to anyone so be sure to tell family, friends and neighbors!
Be sure to mention your child's teacher as well - the top earning class will win a pizza party! Last year Ms. LaRocca's second graders won, who will it be this time?
The fundraiser runs all day long! A big thank you to Kristy Flemming for organizing our Wass restaurant nights!
School Meals Update as of 10/3/25
We want to share some good news following our last update. A state budget has now been approved by both the Michigan House and Senate, and it includes free meals for all students. The bill is now headed to the Governor for her signature.
Student lunch accounts will be credited, and you will not see new charges for meals that are covered under the free meal (breakfast and lunch) program by the State of Michigan.
We will let you know once these updates have been completed. Thank you for your patience and for your support of the Troy School District.

Pack 1708 Rocket Launch!
From the PTO
A lot of things happen in October!!
We hope everyone enjoyed the Wass Auction and want to give a big shout out to Katie Veltema for her hard work with this event each year! She does a fantastic job and we appreciate her!
Next week - be sure to stop by Jet's on October 9th for the first restaurant night! It's tied in with conferences this year to make meal planning a little easier. It's also a half day, so maybe a pizza lunch is just the thing for your family. More info is available elsewhere in the howl!
Also don't forget to purchase skating tickets Wednesday at lunch! Admission tickets are $3 per participating skater at lunch, $4 at the door. If you need to rent skates, that is available for purchase at the doors of the event only.
We love seeing all the candy coming in that will help tremendously with trunk-or-treat later this month! Good luck to all grades with trying to win a pajama day!!
Finally, our October PTO meeting will take place Thursday, October 16th so save the date if you're interested! We will be joined by upper level district administration so it's a great meeting to attend to ask questions you have for TSD!
Enjoy the weekend!
Ashleigh, Tony, Kevin and Krista
Skating Party
The Wass Skating Party will take place Monday, October 13th at Skate World of Troy at 6:15-8:15 pm. Students and their families are invited to skate! All participants must have a ticket (spectators are free).
Tickets can be purchased during student lunch on Wednesday October 8 and Monday October 13th for $3. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $4. Skate rental purchases are available at the door (they are not sold at lunch).
This is a fun night of music, games and prizes. Concessions are available to purchase. We hope to see many of our families out enjoying a fun community night!
Trunk or Treat-Sunday, October 26th!
5th Grade-Troy Fitness Run

- Wearable technology (e.g., Apple Watches, Fitbits) is permitted, but all notifications must be turned off and communication features must be disabled.
Noon Aide Needed
We are looking to hire a noon aide to work 4 days/week (for sure 3 of the days need to be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays) from 11:15-1:15. If interested reach out to Mrs. Crowe!
Bookmobile is Back!
Calling All Volunteers!
If you have an area of volunteering interest you'd like to share with us, we'd love to use you! Volunteers are the heart of our school community and make PTO events possible!
We are looking at getting a general idea on possible contacts to give our committee chairs, but filling out this form does not at all commit you to anything (we promise!)- we're just looking to streamline the process. Additional opportunities to sign up to volunteer will also come out in weekly Howls.
