THE VIKING
Hinesburg Community School - September 12, 2025
THE PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear HCS Families,
We just completed our third week of school and the students and staff are continuing to get to know each other. It is wonderful to see students and teachers taking time to build communities throughout the day during morning meetings and team time activities. Our fall athletics and after school activities and clubs are in full swing and it is exciting to see the number of students that are participating. Thank you to our coaches and club staff for making these opportunities happen for our students.
Autumn is fast approaching and the leaves are beginning to change. For many of us, this is the most beautiful time of year in Vermont. We encourage you to get your kids outside as much as possible to enjoy the fresh air and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
We hope you enjoy the beautiful weekend!
Warmly,
Tim and Alexis

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
Mark your calendars — Friday, September 26 is LifeTouch Picture Day at HCS! Keep an eye on your child’s backpack for a special LifeTouch folder with everything you need to know about photo packages and ordering options.
We want every student to have the chance to shine. If cost is a concern, a limited number of coupons are available to help with photo orders. Please reach out to Deb or Libby at hcsattendance@cvsdvt.org for details.
2 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PICTURE DAY
Picture Day is coming up, and we could really use some extra helping hands (actually, four helping hands!). We’re looking for two volunteers to join us on Friday, September 26th for the full day. Tasks may include helping students line up, keeping things running smoothly in the photo area, and making sure everyone is looking their best before they smile for the camera.
This is always a fun day to be part of; you’ll get to see lots of familiar faces and play an important role in helping things go off without a hitch. Please note that volunteers must have current HCS volunteer clearance.
If you’re available, please call Deb or Libby at 482-2106 to sign up. We’d love to have you join us!
HCS PiE STUDENT DIRECTORIES ARE HERE

👆 MOUNT PHILO FUN 👇
HCS middle school students had a wonderful time visiting Mount Philo! The hike was not only a great way to get outdoors and stay active, but also a chance to build teamwork, friendships, and a sense of accomplishment.
