Band Students Team Up for Friday Night Lights Band Students Team Up for Friday Night Lights

Eighth-grade band students had the exciting opportunity to join the high school marching band for a performance during a varsity football game as seen in these photos. The experience gave students a chance to perform alongside older musicians, build their confidence, and get a glimpse of the opportunities that await them in high school. Beyond making music together, the event helped students connect with fellow musicians and experience the excitement of performing for a larger audience. It was a memorable evening of music, teamwork, and school spirit!

Tardy Notification Reminder Tardy Notification Reminder

Please be aware that our automated tardy notifications stop after a student reaches 10 tardies per trimester. This means that even if you are no longer receiving email notifications, your student may still be accumulating additional tardies. We encourage families to make it part of their nightly routine to sit down with their student and review their PowerSchool account together. This is a great way to stay informed, monitor attendance, and have conversations about the importance of arriving to class on time. Please reach out to dw_attendance@d103.org if you have any questions about your student’s tardies.

District 103 teachers and staff demonstrated the same perseverance, determination, and commitment they bring to their students each day as they took on the 26.2-mile Chicago Marathon this past weekend. Daniel Wright's Lara Nichols demonstrated to students that setting goals, overcoming challenges, and never giving up can lead to success both inside and outside the classroom.

Future Business Leaders of America Classes Future Business Leaders of America Classes

Are you interested in business? Do you want to compete in national competitions and develop leadership skills? Come join DWs newest ASA - FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) starting Tuesday, Oct. 27, for 12 weeks. Meetings are every 2 weeks on Tuesdays.

FBLA is a national organization where students compete in business events, develop leadership skills, and explore business careers. We believe in getting an early start so students can build a strong foundation before the demands of high school make it harder to get involved. Students from Stevenson’s FBLA chapter will lead meetings to guide students. All ability levels and grade levels are welcome! Register on the RevTrak Web Store.

Career Day Career Day

Eighth-graders are participating in Navig8 Lake County, an interactive career exploration experience designed to expose students to a variety of future career pathways.

Rather than simply hearing about different careers, students will have opportunities to engage in hands-on experiences across areas such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, technology, public safety, and the skilled trades.

Students may experience activities such as practicing hands-on medical care techniques,

working with engineering and technical tools, exploring equipment used in different industries, and interacting directly with professionals throughout Lake County. These experiences provide students with an opportunity to connect their interests and strengths with potential careers while learning more about the education, training, and skills associated with different pathways.

Roughly 6,000 students from Lake County schools will participate in the event that takes place Tuesday, Oct. 20.
