StenoStrides Scholarship Opportunity!
By way of introduction, my name is Stacy Drohosky. I am affiliated with an organization by the name of StenoStrides. StenoStrides is a volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation in Indiana dedicated to promoting the careers of court reporting and captioning to the public.
My outreach to you is regarding a program we have launched called StenoScholars. StenoScholars was established in 2022 to allow court reporting students the opportunity to offset the cost of their court reporting education. StenoStrides will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships on July15, 2024. Last year we awarded three scholarships and our giving came full circle as one of our recipients graduated this spring.
I have included the link for the StenoStrides annual StenoScholars application, as well as the direct link to our website, www.stenostrides.com. This is for students that have been enrolled in a verbatim reporting program for a minimum of one year. The deadline date is July 1, 2024. We would ask that you share this with your students, and we look forward to awarding one of the three designated scholarships to one of your students.

Job opportunities
Alaska is HIRING!
Greetings from Alaska!
I am writing regarding graduates from your NCRA – Approved Court Reporting Program.
Recently, the Judicial Conference for the federal courts amended the minimum qualification requirements for court reporters. The amendment reduces the number of years required of prime court reporting experience in the freelance filed of service or in other courts or a combination of such experience from four years to one year. You may have graduates from your program who would be interested in an exciting opportunity to work with the Federal U.S. District Court in the District of Alaska. Please pass along the attached vacancy announcement. This position is based out of Anchorage, Alaska in the James M. Fitzgerald U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building. There are also two other divisional offices in our District – Fairbanks and Juneau, Alaska. We are a small court unit with three (3) designated District Court Judicial Posts and (3) Magistrate Judges.
If you or your program has any job placement services or position advertising platforms for graduates, please pass along this opportunity for them to share as well.
Thank you for your assistance,
Candice
