Principal's Message

As we begin a brand new year, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. The start of a new year marks a promise of new beginnings, opportunities, and shared successes for our school and our students.

Your unwavering support and partnership have been the cornerstone of La Vernia Junior High’s success, and for that, we are truly grateful. Together, we are creating a nurturing and vibrant school community that values education, growth, and the well-being of our students.

May the coming year bring you moments of joy, discovery, and fulfillment. As parents, your role in shaping the educational journey of your children is paramount, and we are confident that, together, we will continue to provide an environment that fosters curiosity, resilience, and a love for learning.

Let's look ahead with hope and optimism, knowing that any challenges we may face will only make us stronger. We are excited about the possibilities the new year holds for our school and each student within it.

Thank you for being an integral part of the LVJH family. May the year ahead be filled with success, laughter, and shared accomplishments. Go Bears!!

Friendly Reminder

6th Grade Car Riders are dropped off and picked up in the Gym 1 parking lot.

7th and 8th grade Car riders are dropped off and picked up at the front of the school.

Walkers are dismissed a little later to allow for the car line to decrease and provide a safer walking path to get home.

Please do not drive through the bus lanes during drop off and pick up times to pick up your students. We want to ensure all of our students are able to safely get to school and get home.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Library Check Out Form

Dear LVJH Parents,

We are very excited for the 2023-2024 school year to begin! Below you will find a permission form that gives you, the parent, the ability to choose what your child can and cannot have access to in the Junior High Library.

The books at La Vernia Junior High are arranged by Genre to include Fantasy, Romance, Horror, Supernatural, Historical Fiction, Adventure, Mystery, Sports, Graphic Novels and Young Adult. LVISD has procedures in place for the purchase of library books that are intended to serve a wide variety of age levels and diverse student groups.

** Digital books accessed through MACKIN VIA and Comic Plus do not fall under this permission form due to the inability to limit or change access for the student body.**

Important Note: If we do not receive this form back by September 29th it will be assumed you do not want to place any restrictions on your students library account.

Please contact Lead Librarian, Roma Burrhus, if you have any questions at rburrhus@lvisd.org.
