Good Morning,

Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday due to the long holiday weekend. We hope students and families enjoy the extra day and we look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday, 10/15.

We enjoy partnering with our families and believe that when parents/guardians and school staff work together to support and improve the learning experiences and development of our children, it equates to positive outcomes for students. Below you will find a list of parent engagement activities and meetings for the 2024-2025 school year. This list will be updated monthly. We are hoping to add a few more parent workshops this year to the schedule.

I'm excited to let families know that the WECC playground is under construction! The playground equipment has been delivered, the trucks and construction crew are here working diligently. Students and staff are so EXCITED!! Check out the pictures below.

Safety:

We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers..

Tuition:

The Lockbox for dropping off tuition is now at door #7. No CASH should be placed into this box. Please do not use the one at the front of the building where the administration office is. Remember to put your child's name in the memo section of your check.

Have a wonderful weekend!

How to Give Clear Directions

About this Series

The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.

Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.

I'm a Super Reader

Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books

One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.

We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.

Help our students reach their goal!
