What’s New at Royalview -Letter from Mrs. Tomassetti
Dear Families,
As we approach the holiday season, we want to take a moment to wish all of our families a wonderful and restful time with your loved ones. We hope you enjoy quality time together and make lasting memories during this special time of year.
In the spirit of the season, be sure to check out the Willoughby Eastlake Schools Facebook page for the exciting #DecemberDelight Social Media Contest! This fun competition highlights the creativity and positive energy across the district’s schools. Our school has submitted two videos to the contest, so please take a moment to visit the page and give them a like!
The contest is a great way for all of us to show off the amazing moments happening in our schools, and your support helps bring even more cheer to our community. Thank you for participating and for being such an important part of our school family!
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and memorable holiday season!
Cyndi Tomassetti, Principal
School Funding Information
Understanding how our schools are funded is an important step in supporting a strong future for our students. We are grateful for the partnership of our community, whose ongoing support helps us fulfill our shared vision.
Attached is the first video in our four-part Funding Our Future series, which explains how schools in Ohio are funded and outlines the revenue sources that support Willoughby-Eastlake. Ohio’s school funding system is complex, and local property taxes continue to play a major role in sustaining the programs and opportunities available to our students.
We believe our community deserves clear and accurate information about how resources reach our classrooms and how we make responsible decisions with every dollar entrusted to us. This series reflects our commitment to transparency and long-term planning as we navigate a changing school funding landscape.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn more about how our schools are funded.

Fall has arrived…. and so have the cooler temperatures. Please send your child in appropriate outdoor clothing for the dry or wet weather. We will continue to go outside until the temperature and/or wind chill reaches 20 degrees or below.
Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Accepting Nominations!
Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools seeks to recognize past graduates of the district who have distinguished themselves at a high level of achievement in an area of academics, the arts, business, government service, volunteerism through community service, athletics or as a respected leader in their profession or community. Please note that both Eastlake North and Willoughby South have separate athletic halls of fame for outstanding athletic achievements, but athletics can be a contributing factor in an overall distinguished alumni nomination.
Nominees are eligible if they graduated at least ten (10) years from the nomination deadline of December 19, 2025. Individuals may be nominated posthumously, and nominations can be submitted by any member of the public, however, we do not accept self-nominations. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on March 5, 2026.
If you would like to nominate a distinguished graduate of the district, please use the following form: W-E Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Nomination Form.
3rd Grade Holiday Music Concert
Dear Royalview Families and Friends,
The 3rd Grade Music Program is almost here! This letter contains
useful information about the concert on December 18th.
Where: The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at North High School:
34041 Stevens Blvd. Eastlake, Ohio
Date: December 18th.
Time: The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. We will do a brief closed-
door rehearsal with all the children on stage at 6:30 pm. During this
time the audience will wait in the lobby. The audience will enter the
PAC at approximately 6:55, with the show starting at 7:00. We ask that
you have your child at the PAC by 6:30 so that they can take part in the
rehearsal.
Student Attire
Students should wear nice clothes that they are comfortable
performing in. There is no “dress code” for the event, but if students
would like to wear festive holiday clothing that is fine. Please have
performers leave their coats with their families, as the stage will get too
warm to wear a coat and there is no storage space behind the stage.
If you have any further questions about the Program, please
contact your child’s music teacher:
Briana Bezeredi ( Briana.bezeredi@weschools.org)
Debbi Stankus ( Deborah.stankus@weschools.org)
The students have been working hard on their performance and
they can’t wait to show you all they have learned!
Exciting Renovations Happening at Royalview
Royalview Elementary will benefit from several exciting capital improvements over the next year, including new lighting, electrical upgrades, air conditioning, new flooring, ceilings, and painting. These renovations will take place throughout the 2025–2026 school year and into the summer of 2026. There will not be any disruptions to classes for students, most of the work will be completed outside of school hours. The lighting fixtures are the first phase to be upgraded. We are excited about these enhancements, which will create an improved, modern learning environment for our students and staff.
Parent -Teacher Conferences reminder
Please remember that you can ask for a conference with your student's teacher at any mutually agreeable time to discuss their progress.

Birthday Treat Guidelines
At Royalview, we enjoy honoring our students on their birthday by announcing their name on the morning announcements! We also respect that many parents choose to send in a treat for their child’s class on this special day. Sending in a treat on your child’s birthday is optional, but please follow the following guidelines if you choose to provide something for the class.
· Food treats must be individually wrapped– due to food allergy concerns.
· Must provide enough for each student in the class.
· In order to limit class interruptions we are unable to accommodate guests for individual birthday celebrations.
· Teachers will send the treat home with students at the end of the day.
