THE BEAR ESSENTIALS

Week of September 7, 2026

THE BEARESSENTIALSWeek of September 7, 2026

Dear Bear Families,

Wow, what a great start to the 2026–2027 school year! By the end of the week, our students were back in the swing of things and doing a great job making their way to classes and settling into their routines.

Parents, on Wednesday, we met with students during their classes to review expectations here at Roosevelt. We ask that you continue these conversations at home, especially regarding electronic devices.

Please remind your students that phones, headphones, AirPods, earbuds, and smartwatches are not permitted during instructional time. This expectation also applies in the hallway and in the restroom during instructional time. Our goal is to ensure that students are present, engaged, and focused on learning throughout the instructional day. These expectations align with the new Michigan cell phone law.

Thank you for partnering with us as we work together to create a consistent and focused learning environment for all of our students!

Next week, there will be no school on Monday in observance of Labor Day. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday, September 8, 2026!

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, Bear Families! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Go Bears!

Starting at 7:30 am, only our front doors and the Commons (pool) doors will be unlocked. Students are welcome to come in and enjoy breakfast in the Cafetorium or Commons until the main bell rings at 7:45 am. At this time, all other doors will open for 15 minutes before our school day officially begins at 8:00 am.

Please note that during the school day, from 8:00 am to 2:51 pm, students must enter through the front doors only. This ensures proper check-in and that students receive a pass to class.
