Edition 3
The wait is almost over!!!
We are so excited to welcome our students back to school on Wednesday! Our staff has been working hard to prepare for a fantastic year, and we can't wait to see everyone.
As you prepare for the first day, please remember:
- Students must be in compliance with the campus uniform dress code.
- Have a plan for your child's lunch, whether they will be bringing a lunch from home or preordering one. Please have a plan.
- Please review the Arrival and Dismissal Procedures and make sure you understand the expectations before Wednesday. When all families follow the same procedures, it helps ensure a safe and efficient process for everyone.
We also ask for your patience during the first few days of school. As students, families, and staff learn the routines together, arrival and dismissal may take a little longer than usual. Your cooperation and flexibility will help us establish smooth procedures for the remainder of the year.
Thank you for partnering with us as we kick off another exciting school year. We know it's going to be a great year of learning, growth, and success. We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!

Words Matter
Dear Families,
As a school community, the safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority. We are attempting to be proactive to remind students about what a threat is and why it is important to take words seriously.
A threat is any statement, message, or action that suggests harm to people, property, or the school environment, whether it is said in person, written, or posted online. Even if a student says something as a joke or without intent to cause harm, threats must always be taken seriously and investigated to ensure everyone’s safety. School and law enforcement officials treat every threat with care and urgency.
We want students to understand that their words matter and that responsible communication is an important part of being a safe and respectful member of our community.
To help explain this in a way that students and families can understand, we encourage you to watch the short video below together.
How families can help:
- Talk with your child about the importance of using responsible language.
- Remind them that jokes about violence or threats are never appropriate.
- Encourage them to report anything they see or hear that feels unsafe.
- Reinforce that keeping our school safe is a shared responsibility.
Our goal is not to alarm families but to ensure that our students understand the seriousness of their words and actions. By working together, we can continue to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for everyone.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community safe.

Student Expectations
Please review the Parent/Student handbook prior to the first day of school. HERE is the UPDATED link. You can access information regarding:
- Attendance
- Uniform expectations
- Technology
- Student code of conduct
- And so much more!
We will NOT have additional clothing on hand for students to change into during the school day if needed. Parents, you will need to ensure your student is in dress code everyday as well as provide additional items for students or you will be called to drop off items or pick up your student.
The First Day of School!
The first day of school will be on August 12th. The instructional day begins at 7:30am. Only kindergarten families will be allowed to walk their students to class on the first day, This is only allowed for the first day of school. This will include immediate family and not extended family members. Kinder students being walked in with parents will enter AND exit door 7. Doors will open at 7:10 am and all families need to be out of the building no later than 7:30am to begin the school day. All other students in grades 1st - 5th, dropped off between 7:10 - 7:20 will remain in the gym until the teachers walk them to their classrooms. This includes 1st - 5th grade siblings of Kinder students.
All Kinder through 1st grade students are required to return the bags provided at Meet the Teacher night with an additional set of clothes in case of an emergency. We recommend that 2nd grade students also pack an additional set of clothes to proactively plan in case of emergencies.
The Second Day of School and Beyond!
Our doors open for drop off at 7:10 am each day in the gym, students K-5. All students will enter the building through the gym doors on the south side of the building only. Students will follow their regular schedule each day. Dismissal is at 3:55 pm everyday. Please see more information below regarding our new process for dismissal with PikMyKid as we are diligently working to streamline our process.
Arrival and Dismissal - Updates, MUST READ!
The safety of our students is our top priority, and we need the participation of ALL families to ensure arrival and dismissal run safely and efficiently each day. Please review the traffic routes below and enter the car rider line as indicated in the image. Following the designated routes helps keep traffic moving and creates a safer environment for everyone.
As we begin the school year, please be patient with us during the first few weeks. Students, families, and staff are all learning and adjusting to the procedures together. Your cooperation and flexibility are greatly appreciated as we work to establish smooth routines.
Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Please help us by following these important expectations:
Remain in your vehicle at all times while in the carpool line. NEVER park and get out of your car while in the carpool line. This is a drive though line ONLY where cars should NEVER be parked.
Students must be able to unbuckle/buckle seatbelts and exit/enter the vehicle with little to no assistance. If you feel that your student needs assistance, you may park in a designated parking spot to assist them but NOT in the carpool lane.
- Students must enter and exit the vehicle from the PASSENGER SIDE ONLY for everyone's safety.
- Students may NOT be dropped off or picked up on Majestic Gardens Drive at any time. YOU are risking YOUR student's safety by doing so. Student entry is only allowed at the front of the building.
- Students are only able to access designated entry/exits during arrival and dismissal.
- Families requesting "walker" dismissal must provide proof of residency within one-half (½) mile of the school. Students will only be designated as walkers AFTER approval from the campus. This must be YOUR residence that is on record, not a friend or family member.
- At this time, we are NOT permitting parent "walk ups" as our students are dismissed from inside the building.
- You MUST have your dismissal car tag displayed while in the carpool line. If you do not have your tag, you must park in a designated parking spot and enter the building with your drivers license/passport. We will be printing an additional car tag for each student within the first few weeks of school.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe and make arrival and dismissal a positive experience for everyone. Working together, we can ensure a smooth start to the school year!
PikMyKid App
We will be using a new app this year for dismissal called Pikmykid. Below is a video and the parents information guide. We hope that this will be an easy transition and help with the dismissal process. Please review prior to the first day of school for a smooth transition. We truly believe this will make our process more safe and more smooth moving forward. See map below.
***You must have the app up and running BEFORE the 1st day of school on August 12!!!

Lunches, snacks, and water bottles - Updated!
Lunches
Students are encouraged to bring their lunch but in the event that packing a lunch is not desired, Lunch Link is already open for ordering. This will be the catering service that will deliver lunches to LPS for your child. The website to order is https://lunchlink.com/. Delivery for Lunch Link is Tuesday and Wednesday only. Monday and Thursday will have deliveries through LPS, however, we will not have catering from Chick-fil-A or Dillas available until after Labor Day. Please prepare your student to bring their lunches on Monday's and Thursday's in the meantime. Ordering information will be sent out soon.
Water Bottles
To help maintain a safe and clean learning environment, all students need a spill-proof water bottle each day. This helps prevent spills that can create safety hazards and disrupt instruction.
Snacks
Students may bring a healthy, dry, and easy-to-eat snack for designated snack times. Choosing simple, mess-free snacks helps students quickly refuel while minimizing distractions and keeping our classrooms clean. Snack items should be easy to open by the student and not include utensils or preparation. We also prefer to avoid peanut products in the classrooms as well.
Some snack suggestions include: protein bars, dried fruit, goldfish, etc.
After School Care
If you are unable to pick up your child by 3:55 p.m., we encourage you to enroll in our after-school care program. Our teachers and staff dedicate long hours each day to supporting student learning and are not able to provide supervision beyond the end of the instructional day. Enrolling in after-school care helps ensure your child is safely supervised while also allowing our staff to conclude their workday as scheduled. We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and efficient dismissal process.
