Most Schools Open Tomorrow
Most Buses on Normal Routes
Dear students, staff, and families,
Thanks to the hard work of our maintenance and facilities teams, we are thrilled to share that nearly all schools will be able to open tomorrow. Many communities suffered storm damage, but the work done by these teams has ensured most issues are resolved.
You may see this work continue this week, and principals have communicated directly with those school communities where damage was too extensive to safely reopen. Families and students at these schools should expect further communication tomorrow about instructional plans for this coming week and any updated timelines we have for repairs.
And thanks to City transportation teams and Mother Nature, most bus routes are clear enough to return to normal. If an issue remains along your route, you will receive a message – and if you do not receive a message, please meet your bus at your usual stop at your usual time tomorrow. And if there is a delay, please be patient as we navigate the impacts of the storm.
I’ve said it before, but thank you again for your patience over the last week. We look forward to welcoming our students back tomorrow, and then again throughout the week as schools with extensive damage are repaired.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jon Franco
Chief of Schools
