Falcon Tales #7: Week of August 18, 2025

This Week's Reading Skill: Adventures Big and Small
This week's stories show us that adventures can happen in many ways, whether it is planning a summer trip, exploring the forest, discovering amazing animal features, or learning from a wise old tale.
Here are a couple ways you can talk about the different adventures that stories take us on:
-
After reading, ask your child, "What adventure did the characters go on? What made it exciting?"
-
Help your child to compare stories and ask, "How is a summer vacation adventure different from a forest adventure? How are they the same?"
-
Encourage your child to use their imagination. Ask, "If you could go on an adventure anywhere, where would you go? What would you hope to see?"
-
Ask your child to try a creative activity and draw a picture of their “dream adventure” and share it with the rest of the family.
