Counselor's Corner
Well, our scholars have been doing well for the first week of testing; however, we need them to be able to do their BEST! Their best can't be achieved without a little assistance from our parents and guardians. Don't forget to help them do their very best by making sure that they get their rest by going to bed earlier, eat healthier meals and snacks, spend extra time studying, and arrive to school on time and prepared. All of these things, as well as a few words of encouragement each morning, will help our scholars do their very best on the test! GO PATRIOTS!!
We are proud to bring back our partnership with Chris180, one of the area's premiere mental health, child welfare and family service organizations, in empowering families and helping children overcome difficulties they may face. If you feel that your child may benefit from a deeper therapeutic interaction, please contact me for more information regarding their free services for our scholars.
The Counseling Dept. and the Attendance Team would like to remind you the importance of having an exemplary attendance record. Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
While we celebrated National Bullying Prevention Month and National Kindness Month in October, the Counseling Dept. is focusing on building a school community that fosters a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all of our scholars throughout the year. We encourage all scholars who feel as if they are being harassed, mistreated, or bullied to inform their teacher, or the counselor, to ensure that all scholars have a safe and conducive learning environment. Let's work together in building a school that promotes kindness, acceptance, and inclusion by reminding our scholars that Liberty Point is No Place For Hate.
Clicking here will take you to my webpage, which provides information about the counseling services at Liberty Point Elementary, as well as some resources you can use at home. Please check the webpage often as it is updated periodically to include new resources and information gathered throughout the school year.
If you would like to contact me, please feel free to send an email or call me directly at (470)254-9657.
"Here Comes The Bus App" is a free, easy-to-use website and app that enables you to see the location of your child’s school bus on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer. This way, you know when the bus is near your stop, so you can send your child out at just the right time. No more worrying about whether your child has missed the bus! If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's assigned bus or bus stop, please contact FCS Transportation Department at 470-254-6060 OR contact our supervisor:
