Note from our School Counselor, Ms. Sage

During the month of December, I'll be visiting each classroom to teach a lesson on Perseverance. Students will explore what it means to keep trying, even when things feel challenging and how baby steps can lead to big progress. We'll use activities and stories to boost confidence and help build a "you've got this!" mindset.

Resources for Parents & Guardians:

Some ideas to support perseverance at home...

Try a "growth mindset" phrase swap: Replace "I can't do this" with "I can't do this yet."
Celebrate effort, not perfection: Notice and praise when your child keeps trying, even in small ways.
Model perseverance: Share a story about something you are working on or practicing.

Read Aloud Ideas:

Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall
Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae
The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires

These tools help children build confidence, try new strategies and develop a "keep going" mindset that supports them at school and at home.

CANNED FOOD DRIVE

We're teaming up with Homestead Helping Hands and hosting a canned food drive to benefit families in Worthington and surrounding towns this holiday season. We invite all students, families, and staff to bring in non-perishable goods and help fill our collection bins with love and generosity. Every donation makes a big difference and ensures that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food this season. Thank you for your support and generosity!
