A Note from Mrs. Pitts

Dear RES Families and Supporters,

We have discovered a challenge and have found a solution! We know that we can't live a day without our office heroes, Staci and Shari. However, there is an occasion when they are absent. Emails are not able to be easily retrieved regarding certain dismissal changes, absences etc.

So...we have a NEW email for ALL office questions and inquiries. Please email resoffice@sau50.org for ANY dismissal changes, bus questions or absences.

If you need help, all three of us will now be able to respond if needed!

Warmly,

Michelle Pitts

Family Members Invited to the Caf

After the New Year, we would love to invite family members back to lunch in the caf. In the next couple of weeks, we will communicate all the information you might need such as lunch times, sign in procedures or any other factors to consider!

PICTURE HIGHLIGHTS PICTURE HIGHLIGHTS

Array City

Our third graders are learning about arrays and built a city with their knowledge. When you come to RES, try and create multiplication equations with the students' creations!

So excited!

This kindergarten friend was SOOOO excited to get a Rye Riptide sticker. We use these to recognize a behavior that is above and beyond and we have seen some pretty amazing acts of kindness and respect!

Compass Rose

Our first graders built a compass rose in the woods and will be using it as their guide as they navigate in our outdoor classroom with Ms. Murphy and the first grade teachers.

Notes

OPTIONAL DONATIONS:

  • Contribute a gift card to Market Basket, Target, etc. for RES families in need.
  • Notecards, stationary, etc to support our Rye Writes program!
  • We are really wanting to create more welcoming conference rooms where we can meet with families and teachers from our district schools. If you are thinking of throwing away anything decorative, please let us know. These are not very friendly spaces and we would love to spruce them up!

Spirit Week:

  • Look for information about Spirit Week in next week's newsletter! It will be from December 12-16.

Holiday Parties:

Families can attend the 8:30 AM assembly on December 16. This is the event that all family members will be invited to attend during the day.

Parties: When planning, keep in mind the following recommendations from the Wellness Committee for all parties:

• one homemade treat avoiding artificial dyes and/or high fructose corn syrup

• one or two healthy snacks (a great way to get creative with colorful fruits and vegetables)

• one moving activity (relay race, tossing, balancing, wrapping friends in toilet paper)

• one artistic craft as an option

• keep in mind RES efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle

We do ask that room parents/guardians email the teacher and Lori Flint all food choices a week ahead so there are no surprises and Mrs. Flint can process whether these are safe for all students in a particular class. Please email her if you have questions! lfint@sau50.org
