Message from Mrs. Tostaine

We have packed schedule the last two weeks of October so watch our calendar and notifications from teachers and school about what will be happening. Dr. Apple is planning a district wide celebration for our IRead and ILearn results and we have our end of the quarter celebrations.

Indiana Assessment Program: Family Portal Information
The purpose of the Family Portal is to provide parents and guardians with access to their child’s assessment results for state required assessments, including Indiana’s Learning Evaluation and Readiness Network (ILEARN) Summative and Checkpoint assessments, Indiana’s Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD) assessment, and Indiana’s Alternate Measure (I AM)assessment.
How can parents and guardians access the Family Portal?
Parents and guardians can access the Family Portal by accessing the Family Portal login page directly at: https://in-familyportal.cambiumast.com
What information do parents and guardians need to log in to the Family Portal?
To log in to the Family Portal, parents and guardians need three pieces of information:
•Their child’s unique six-digit access code for the Family Portal
•Their child’s date of birth
•Their child’s legal first name.
Where can I find my child's unique six-digit code to access the Family Portal?
Parents and guardians can access their child's code by logging into the Harmony Family page (https://harmony.lanesville.k12.in.us/familyaccess.nsf/hello.xsp) and viewing your student's profile page. Scroll down to the section titled, "Standardized Tests" and your Cambium Family Portal Access Code will be listed there. (see image below)
Forefront Math Screener
2026-2027 Universal Mathematics Screener for Grades K-2
Building foundational mathematics skills early supports student success in future academic and career pathways. To strengthen this foundation, Indiana Code (IC) 20‑32‑6.5‑3 requires schools to provide targeted interventions for any student identified by universal mathematics screener data as being at risk of not meeting grade‑level proficiency. Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, all Indiana public, charter, and non‑public schools must adopt and implement one of the two State Board of Education (SBOE)-approved universal mathematics screeners for kindergarten through grade two (as defined in IC 20‑32‑6.5‑2).
Lanesville Elementary is using the approved screener from Forefront. Teachers in grades K-2 have given the screener to their students and have or will be sharing the information with parents. Teachers will be sending home a family letter that will have areas of strengths and areas your child needs to work on. The letter also has ideas that parents are able to work on at home with their child to support work done at school. Any student who scores in the 40th percentile or lower is considered At Risk, this is similar to the dyslexia screener that K-2 students take. These students will be given interventions to help grow their number sense which will help them in all areas of math.

Arrival
Car rider expectations for the safety of our students.
- Stay in line and do not go around the car in front of a car who is still unloading. We are concerned for the safety of all students as some exit the car from both sides.
- Pull as far forward at all times which will help us with a smooth and efficient arrival.
- All car riders should enter the parking lot and follow the line of cars toward the Elementary school.
