All grade levels will get to meet with Mrs. Patrick in the library

on a weekly basis for stories, lessons and book browsing.

Mrs. Patrick has made the library such a beautiful and welcoming space

complete with art and an amazing book collection for our K-3 students.

We are excited to launch Cubs Crew, a brand-new program of student jobs at East.

Cubs Crew provides meaningful opportunities for students to take on leadership roles,

build responsibility, and contribute to our school community in positive ways.

Through Cubs Crew, students can apply, interview, and be “hired” for a variety of jobs that help keep our school running smoothy. Jobs include morning greeters, breakfast buddies, librarian’s assistant, gardener, and more. These jobs aren’t just tasks—they’re a chance for our Cubs to develop pride, accountability, and connection while leaving their mark on our school.

Applications and information are below and also available outside Ms. Jennifer’s office.

Applications are due to the office by Friday, October 3.

First Grade = 11:35am

Second Grade = 12:00pm

Families are always welcome to join their students for lunch time!

Be sure to sign in with the office before heading to cafeteria.

Please bring your own lunch or call in the morning to order an adult meal.

Adult meals are $9.00 this year.

It is that time of year where your student will need their outside gear.

Be sure to send boots, coats and cold weather items every day.

East Cubs go outside for recess most days no matter the weather, so help them be prepared.

(We will stay indoors if it is extremely cold/icy/windy.)

Annual student health screenings will start shortly.

If you would like to opt your student out of the height and weight portion -

please call Nurse Lisa at 486-7495.

If you see the note below come home with a food item,

it means the snack or main course item contained nuts.

If it was a main course in your child's lunch, we will offer a school hot lunch for your student to have that day. We will not be able to let your student eat or even open any items containing nuts here at school. Thanks again for your help with keeping our school nut free.

There will be lots of useful info stored at the end of each for your reference all year.

General School Information

Emails from PowerschoolMessenger and Smore will be the main

form of communication that you will receive for all general

school information and updates outside of your student's classroom.

Urgent or Emergency Communications

All school emergency notices or alerts will be sent through

PowerSchoolMessenger emails or PowerSchoolMessenger automated calls.

Please take a moment to confirm that your phone numbers and emails

are up to date and correct in your parent portal or check with us in the office.

Individual Classroom/Teacher Communications

KIBSD Staff will only be communicating through district issued devices and applications.

Faculty and staff will no longer be texting or calling with their personal phone numbers.

If you need to reach your child's teacher during the school day please

email, connect via SeeSaw or call the office to leave a message.

Need to speak with your principal?

Call the office to see if Ms. Audra is available or to leave a message.

Ms. Audra always tries to make time to speak with families

but scheduling an appointment time is recommended.
