Dear Three Bridges School Community,

At Three Bridges School, we are proud to foster a culture where environmental stewardship, sustainability, and responsible citizenship are woven into the fabric of our school community. As a Sustainable Jersey for Schools Silver-Certified School, a recipient of Digital Schools Star Recognition, a River-Friendly School, and an Eco-Schools Award Winner, we are committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn about and practice sustainability every day.

Our students engage in hands-on experiences that help them understand the importance of protecting our natural resources, reducing waste, conserving energy, and making thoughtful choices that positively impact our world. From our school gardens and environmental initiatives to classroom lessons that connect sustainability concepts across subject areas, we strive to empower our students to become informed and responsible caretakers of the environment.

This special Green Sustainability Newsletter celebrates the many ways our students, staff, families, and community partners work together to create a healthier and more sustainable future. We hope you enjoy learning about the exciting projects, accomplishments, and initiatives taking place throughout Three Bridges School.

Together, we are growing learners, leaders, and environmental stewards who are making a difference—one small action at a time.

Yours in Tiger Spirit,

Dr. Kristen Higgins
Principal, Three Bridges School

From Egg to Chick: A Hatch-tastic Experience at TBS! From Egg to Chick: A Hatch-tastic Experience at TBS!

Three Bridges School partnered with Hunterdon County 4-H to bring a unique hands-on learning experience into our classrooms. Students had the opportunity to observe fertilized eggs in an incubator and learn about the life cycle of a chicken. Excitement filled the school as students eagerly monitored the eggs each day, waiting for signs of hatching.

After several weeks of anticipation, students were thrilled to watch baby chicks emerge from their shells. This memorable experience provided an engaging way to learn about animal life cycles, growth, and the importance of caring for living things. Students asked thoughtful questions, made observations, and experienced firsthand the wonder of new life.

A special thank you to Hunterdon County 4-H for helping bring this incredible learning opportunity to Three Bridges School. Be sure to click the video link below to see some of our adorable chicks and relive the excitement of hatch day!

Building Future Problem Solvers Through STEM Building Future Problem Solvers Through STEM

Three Bridges School partnered with architect Martin Jennings to provide engaging, hands-on STEM experiences for students in first, second, and third grade. During the workshops, students were challenged to think like engineers, architects, and designers as they worked collaboratively to solve real-world problems.

Each grade level participated in a unique design challenge that encouraged creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. Students applied the Engineering Design Process to plan, build, test, and improve their ideas while learning how design choices can impact people and the environment.

These experiences support our commitment to sustainability by helping students understand how thoughtful design, responsible use of materials, and innovative problem-solving can create solutions for the challenges facing our communities and our world. Through hands-on learning opportunities like these, TBS students are developing the skills needed to become the next generation of innovators, engineers, and environmental stewards.
