Last Week Until Break! 11am Dismissal on Friday!
Dear BES Families,
I say it every year, but I mean it - this semester flew by! I cannot believe we are finishing up our second quarter and preparing for our winter break. Thank you for your support of our educators and staff this semester. We truly love partnering with you to ensure your children's success - whether that be academic, social, or behavioral. All our students are ALL our student and they mean the world to us!
This week is our Holiday Market that LHS organizes for us. Students will go to shop if they choose to during the week. Your child's teacher will put the day of shopping in their weekly message - but I have it below as well. If your child misses their day, they can go another day! See the flyer below.
Monday: Rogan, Gordon, McCombs, Brown, Kreiser, Stone
Tuesday: Harris, Lohse, Finley, Kjar, Carlson, Richardson
Wednesday: O'Keefe, Burnett, Gazaway
Thursday: Smotherman, VanReno, Mulcahy
We have one more concert for our BES students this Wednesday night. Please see the information below from Mrs. Reynolds. Our Ambassadors are also having a little fun for us with their Snowflake Showdown - check out the info below.
Our parties are Friday at 10am. Hope to see you there!
Have a wonderful week!
Cindy Apple, Principal
A Note from Mrs. Reynolds
Dear BES Families,
We are excited to invite you to our 3rd and 4th Grade Winter Programs on Monday, December 18th!
- Third Grade Performance: "Notes of Appreciation"
6:00 PM (Students arrive at 5:45 PM) - Fourth Grade Performance: "Traditions Around the World"
7:30 PM (Students arrive at 7:15 PM)
Location: LHS Auditorium
Student Drop-off: Choir Room
Students should dress in their finest attire—think party-ready outfits! They are welcome to add a festive touch with accessories like headbands or Santa hats.
We can’t wait to celebrate the season with you!
Warm regards,
Ms. Reynolds
After School Clubs
Every year, we offer after school clubs for our students during third quarter. The clubs are all run by students from LHS who are in the Interact Club. Each club is on different nights, but they run Mondays through Thursdays. Some are one day, some are two days - it depends on the club leaders!
Students must be in good standing and Mrs. Apple will determine if students are able to participate or not. They must be students who do their assignments, get projects or assignments turned in on time, and have no office referrals for behaviors. Students can only be in one club.
Along with After School Clubs, we do offer Power Hour as well still. It is four days a week and is a great time to get caught up on work, complete assignments, or practice reading and math facts!
Watch your email for sign-ups for After School Clubs. That will begin Dec. 19th!

Week-By-Week How You Can Help!
Week 1 - Wow!! Thank you for the donations!
Week 2- Thank you!! I will share the total once we have it - but I think it is going to be AMAZING!
Week 3 - Stock the shelves of our local food pantry! Agape food pantry is an invaluable resource for many in our community, particularly during the holiday season. Join us as we work to stock their shelves with food! Please limit your donations to the following items - Canned chicken/tuna, canned MEAL soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and jelly. Please, no 'cream of' soups that you use in casseroles and such.
Seasonal Support Newsletter
Believe it or not, cold weather and the holiday season are fast approaching. We wanted to share with you some free resources for winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts (Christmas gift program is for Louisburg children birth to 18). There are deadlines to each that, again, as far away as they seem, will be here in no time. The added expense of winter coats and holiday costs can be a heavy burden. If your family could benefit from a little extra support to ease that burden, then we hope these resources will do just that! Please see our newsletter to learn about some wonderful resources! Birthday in a Bag
Due to a generous grant from the LES PTO, we are able to offer Birthday in a Bag to help parents, who need a little assistance, be able to celebrate their child's birthday while offsetting a little of the expense. Birthday in a Bag will come in a gift bag that contains allergy informed box of cake mix, frosting, 1 can of Sprite (to make an oil and eggless cake), disposable cake pan, birthday plates and plasticware, candles, a Happy Birthday headband, Party favor blowers, balloons.
We are able to offer this to children who attend Circle Grove preschool, RES and BES.
If you would like to receive Birthday in a Bag to help celebrate your child's birthday, please submit this form (if you have more than one child in your home attending at CG, RES or BES, please submit a SEPARATE form for EACH child).
**If your child has a summer birthday, we will hand those out in May for you to take home. If your child has a Fall birthday that has already passed, we will send theirs home at their "half" birthday.
Upcoming Dates!
December 16-20: BES Blesses Agape Food Pantry in Louisburg
December 18: 3rd and 4th Choir Concerts, 6pm and 7:30pm

January 7, 2025: 3rd Quarter Begins!
Attendance and School Calendars
Receive an Attendance Email from School?
If you receive an attendance letter from school, it is meant to inform you of your student's absences or tardies. This way you can also keep track of the days gone and how to plan ahead to
miss fewer days.
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!

We do not sell our yearbooks during enrollment - other buildings do. So you have not yet purchased a yearbook - now is the time!!! Order it and save the email they send to you so you can remember you bought it in February!
