Leeds Future Stars Families and Friends,
It is so hard to believe that it is already April and spring break is here! March flew by and the weather has been up and down with little cold snaps here and there. Hopefully, spring will finally arrive and will be here to stay! We sure are looking forward to spending more time outside as we push towards the end of the school year!
ISASP Testing
Our students in grades 3-5 will be participating in the Spring 2023-2024 ISASP state testing starting April 16th and wrapping up on April 26th. As always, there are some important things to keep in mind during our testing window that you can help us with at home. Please prioritize the following test taking tips during the testing window to ensure our students are prepared to do their best!:
- Be sure your student/child gets a good night’s sleep..
- Make sure to leave time in the morning before school so your student/child can start their day with a healthy breakfast
- Make sure your student/child is to school on time and ready to go every day.
- Be sure to always encourage your student/child and cheer them on for success.
- Talking with your child about the tests can be helpful all on its own.
Have a Great Month!
Thanks,
Mr. Koch
Principal, Leeds Elementary School

Communication and Preparedness
Student and staff safety is of paramount importance in the Sioux City Community School District. For this reason, the District exercises a host of crisis prevention and planning tactics. Should an emergency occur, the school notifies you through our Blackboard phone system. In an emergency, the system calls every phone number associated with your child in order to reach you. The message will give you details about the emergency and provide directions on when/where to pick up your child if the normal school day is altered. Learn more about school safety.
