How does Carpool Work?
Carpool lines can be confusing and stressful. To help you navigate, I am highlighting a few pieces of information. You can find more in our ABCs of CMS.
In the morning:
1. Please do not sit and wait in the carpool lane. If you arrive before 8:25am, you can drop your child and go or if you want to wait with your child, please park in the lot until the doors open at 8:25am and then walk your child to the crosswalk. Note: prior to 8:25am, students are not supervised by CMS staff.
2. Please pull all the way down to the end of the plaza (or until the cars in front of you stop) before unloading. Do not only unload in front of the gym. See the video linked below if you don't know where the plaza is.
In the afternoon:
1. Please put your hazard lights on when your child is in the car and you are ready to go.
2. Avoid blocking the exit. We need to be able to let cars out to help the process run smoothly.
3. If you do not wish to sit in our carpool line, you can a. send your child on the bus or b. park at Roswell Area Park in the lot next to Roswell North and let your child walk to you.
Please do not park in the neighborhoods or churches near the school. Help us be good neighbors!
Below is a video describing our carpool process. I envisioned doing something cute and techy, but I didn't have time. Just doing the best I can. Thanks for understanding!
Bus Dismissal
Each of our buses is associated with a sport. Rather than calling bus numbers in the afternoon, we tell students what "sports" are on campus. Below is the chart showing what sport is connected with each bus number.
CMS Soccer Team Tryouts
- Attention boys’ and girls’ soccer players in 7th and 8th grade. The start of the middle school soccer season is quickly approaching. Our 8-game soccer season starts August 18th. We will have our first game on August 31st and the season lasts for about a month. Practices are usually once or twice per week with games every Monday and Wednesday.
- Soccer tryouts will be Tuesday, August 18th through Thursday, August 20th immediately after school until 5:30 pm. Bring cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball, and a water bottle to tryouts. Parents should pick up their players at 5:30 in the cul-de-sac next to the soccer field behind the school – use the entrance to the right of the school.
- If interested in trying out for the team, scan the QR code or visit the URL at the bottom of this document and complete all forms in Rank One, including a physical signed by a medical provider. All signed forms must be submitted in Rank One before tryouts begin on August 18th.
- We look forward to another fun-filled and exciting season. See Mr. Jordan in Room 621 with any questions or email him at jordanr7@fultonschools.org.

Student Success Skills
Fulton County Schools uses a program called ReThink Ed to teach Student Success Skills to all students. Student Success Skills are a set of standards that include six skills broken down into several standards across grade levels. Teaching these skills will support students in creating a foundation for managing emotions, healthy relationships, understanding and empathizing with others, being responsible and safe, and learning to cope with difficult life situations.

Device Updates
CMS will be issuing devices and cases to students during the first weeks of school. Students are getting all new device this year, which we are excited about! Please read through the FCS Device Handbook to learn more about parent and student responsibilities with devices, what to do if you have a device related issue and how FCS will be using and handling technology damage this year (hint: buy the insurance!).
Note: We require that students keep their devices in the district provided cases. It helps considerably with damage prevention.
Student Device FAQs 2026–2027
Device Insurance
How do parents opt into device insurance?
Parents opt into Device Insurance during the Infinite Campus Online Registration (OLR) process.
How does insurance enrollment and payment work?
Once OLR is submitted, the insurance fee is added to the parent’s Infinite Campus account. An email with payment instructions is sent; however, the fee will still appear in the parent portal even if the email is not received. Coverage begins once payment is completed.
Can parents opt in after completing registration?
Yes. Parents should contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 470-254-HELP (4357) or submit a Tech Support Ticket on www.fultonschools.org. The TSC will confirm the device is undamaged and add the fee to the student’s account.
What if a parent changes their mind after selecting "No"?
If the OLR has already posted, parents must contact the TSC to request the update.
What is the cost of ODP?
$50 annually per student
$25 for students qualifying for free/reduced lunch
Can schools pay for ODP?
Schools may use SAF funds to cover the premium. However, deductibles and replacement costs remain the responsibility of the student/family. Local district funds may not be used.
What happens if the premium is not paid?
Payment is due within 30 days of the start of school. Until payment is received, the student is not covered.
Device Fees, Responsibility, and Disputes
How are device fees assigned?
Fees are assigned after responsibility is determined. Charges are pre-determined by the district and applied based on the type of damage or loss and insurance coverage.
Who determines responsibility?
Principals or Assistant Principals determine responsibility and assign discipline if warranted.
How are parents notified?
Parents/guardians receive notification through Infinite Campus when a fee is added to their account.
Can parents dispute a charge?
Yes. Parents should contact the Technology Support Center. A formal fault determination process will be coordinated with the school.
School Supplies
Below you will find a list of items that most students will need. When you come to Sneak Peek, teachers will share any additional items that they require for their classes. These lists will also be shared the first week of school.

Husky Helping Huskies Community News
Huskies Helping Huskies (HHH) is a 501(c)(3) that works with CMS and the PTA to assist students and families in urgent need with school supplies, meals, toiletries, and other unique support. We turn our community's compassion into direct assistance that helps in-need students and their families thrive.
Look for the HHH team in the lobby during CMS Information Day. Stop by to join the mailing list, sign up to volunteer, and/or be one of the first to donate in support of the new school year. We will also be collecting snack boxes to ensure students in the program aren't distracted by hunger during the school day. We welcome your donations of boxed, individually wrapped healthy snacks. Bring them to Info Day or ship to us directly from Walmart.com. Thank you for your support.
If your family needs assistance from the HHH program, please reach out to hhh.cms@gmail.com. Learn more about HHH on our website and please follow us on Facebook.
