The Champion Chatt
October 2025
A Message from the Principal
Happy Fall Champion Families,
October is a time to celebrate the season of change. The changing colors of the leaves in fall mirror the changes in our students as they learn new skills and content, the changes in our staff as they build on the classroom communities they have established from the first day, and the changes in our families as they find ways to support our school community.
We are thankful for our visitors who are joining us for lunch, as well as serving as classroom volunteers and Watch Dog Dads. With safety always at the forefront, thank you for coming to the school prepared with your I.D., checking in at the front office and keeping to the intended location of your visit.
We value your partnership! As we close out Q1, we look forward to meeting with parents and guardians during conferences. We are excited to share student progress and to team with families to support the continued growth for all Champion students. A reminder, October 17th is our Online Learning Day in Canvas so that teachers can meet with families for conferences. Students will not come to school but will work from home.
A big THANK YOU to all of the families who have already registered for our Champ Strong PTO fundraiser 2025. We have a goal of raising $12,000 to support playground upgrades, classroom resources, and PTO events. If we reach our goal, I have pledged to spend the night on the roof of Chattahoochee to celebrate our success! Together, we can reach our goal!
With sincere appreciation for our partnership,
Jill

Family Engagement
Having conversations with your children about their learning makes a big difference. Below are some conversation starters that you can use at home to talk with your children.
Talk about learning: Ask your child what they’ve been learning, which subjects they enjoy most, and which ones feel challenging.
-
Support learning habits: Encourage your child to share how they handle tough work, if they feel rushed, and how comfortable they are asking for help.
-
Set goals and celebrate progress: Discuss report card successes, set a goal for the next grading period, and celebrate the hard work they’ve already accomplished.
We are so excited about our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. We love sharing information about your child’s school day, and getting to hear from you makes us happy. We want to make sure your conference is an informative time. Below are some helpful tips and reminders for families before your child’s conference. Click on the image to make it larger.
We look forward to seeing you during conferences. We value our partnership. Thank you for sharing your child with us each day. ❤️ If you could use any learning resources at home, please contact our Family Engagement Coordinator, Kim Sarfaty, at ksarfaty@forsyth.k12.ga.us, and she will help.

Important Reminders
Absence Reminders
If your student is marked absent and you use our school QR code attendance form to indicate a medical excuse, please remember that the actual medical documentation must be submitted to the front office.
You may send the medical excuse in one of the following ways:
- Email it directly to the front office (chattattendance@forsyth.k12.ga.us), or
- Send it through your student’s teacher
This helps us ensure that all absences are properly documented and excused. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping us maintain accurate attendance records.
Digital Citizenship Lesson: Digital Footprint
This month, students will learn about their digital footprint—the trail they leave behind whenever they go online. From games played to messages sent, everything contributes to their online reputation.
Students will explore the 3 P’s to help protect their digital footprint:
- Privacy – Keep personal info private
- Positive – Use kind, respectful language
- Permission – Ask a trusted adult before sharing or downloading
Students are encouraged to think before they post and make choices that reflect who they are and how they want to be remembered online.
Ask your child: What’s one thing you can do today to protect your digital footprint?
Chattahoochee Spirit Rock
The Chattahoochee Spirit Rock is ready to roll for the 2025-2026 school year! 😄 Families may sign-up for an opportunity to paint our rock, sharing birthday, congratulatory, and inspiring messages for their special Champion.
