School Performance Framework School Performance Framework

The Colorado Department of Education publishes annual School and District Performance Frameworks (SPFs and DPFs) that provide school plan type and district accreditation ratings under the state accountability system. Official ratings are based on student outcomes on key performance indicators: Academic Achievement, Academic Growth, and Postsecondary & Workforce Readiness. Districts and schools earn points for each key indicator, and then points are combined to determine the overall percentage of points earned.

  • Las Animas School District had the most improved District Performance Framework in the State of Colorado out of 159 eligible district frameworks - improving by 14 percentage points.

  • Las Animas Elementary School had the 7th most improved School Performance Framework, improving by 25.5 percentage points.

  • Las Animas Junior High had the 45th most improved School Performance Framework, improving by 17.8 percentage points.

  • Academy of Las Animas Online grew from Improvement to Performance.

  • Las Animas High School maintained their Performance Rating for the 3rd consecutive year.

Home Visit Program Home Visit Program

Las Animas School District believes strongly in partnering with all families to increase student success at school and in life. Each year, each teacher schedules a home visit with the families of the students in their class for elementary school. For junior high & high school students, families schedule a home visit with their child's advisor. At these visits, the student, family and teacher share their goals for the year and important information to prepare for a successful year. During August 2025, over 90% of students in LASD enjoyed a home visit.
