School Newsletter- Lincoln Annex and Head Start
Happy October Families!
It's been such a joy watching our little learners settle into routines, build friendships, and grow more confident each day. The laughter, curiosity, and creativity that fill our classrooms truly make our school a special place!
October is a month full of wonder and discovery from exploring pumpkins and fall leaves to learning about kindness and community. Our teachers are creating magical experiences that help children see learning as an adventure. It has been a very exciting month with the Week of Respect, Week of Violence Awareness, and Red Ribbon Week. We also enjoyed our Harvest Fest and Halloween activities!
Our students continue to focus on their foundational Reading and Math skills at school. We are practicing letter sounds, learning new sight words and understanding simple sentences and stories. In Math we will be counting, recognizing patterns and identifying shapes. As we move forward, our focus remains on fostering a nurturing and engaging environment where all children feel valued and supported.

Important Reminders!
- Pre-K Registration is underway! If you are interested in registering your child for Pre-K please go to our Head Start location at 263 Lafayette Avenue in Cliffside Park to pick up a registration packet.
- As the weather gets colder, please send your child with a coat with a hood or a hat to school, students will still go outside for physical education classes and to play.
- November 3, 2026, School Closed for Election Day.
- November 5, 2026 & November 6, 2026, School Closed for Teacher's Convention.
- November 11, 2026, School Closed for Veteran's Day.
- November 13, 2026 Picture Day!
- November 19, 2026, Wear Purple for Epilepsy Awareness Month.
- November 25, 2026-ONE SESSION DAY, 12:30 P.M. DISMISSAL!!!
- November 26, 2026, & November 27, 2026, School Closed for Thanksgiving Recess. School will re-open on November 30 , 2026.
- Please remember to check Class Dojo and your child's folder for upcoming school events.
- Lookout for our Scholastic Book Fair, Holiday Boutique and Pictures with Santa coming up in December!
- Classroom teachers will be sharing a themed calendar for the month of December!
