Grad rates still ticking up
The recent release of data from the Oregon Department of Education show Mac High’s graduation rate is still rising, with 92.83 percent of the class of 2022 receiving diplomas last spring. McMinnville continues to outpace the state average. This year’s rate is nearly 10 points higher than the average of all other districts across Oregon.
Our Hispanic student rate also increased and is now nearly 12 points higher than the state average. CTE students graduate at a more than 95 percent rate, which also outperforms the state average.
Kudos to our entire teaching staff, who all contribute to the success of our students, and to our 2022 Grizzlies!
Pre-K Volunteers
Five of our elementary schools have pre-K programs looking for classroom volunteers to help with play-based learning.
Welcome to MSD’s new athletic trainer!
Kelsey LaMont has joined the MHS athletics program. She received her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and completed her graduate degree at Missouri State University.
Kelsey has both high school and college experience as an athletic trainer, most recently at Seattle University.
MSD Nurses’ Corner
Oral health is about much more than a nice smile. MSD nurses share why taking care of your teeth is important to overall health and how your family can access resources for dental care if you need it.
Art in the Schools
This week, Columbus fifth graders created self-portraits in a session led by the district’s Artist-in-Residence, Jessica Campbell.
The McMinnville Education Foundation (MEF) funds the art enrichment program for fourth and fifth graders in all district schools.
