Ashland Preschool Weekly Update

Hi, everyone,

We can't believe this was our last full week of preschool for the year. Thank you for all your support this year!

The AHS Choir returned for a performance on Thursday afternoon. We loved hearing the songs and watching the big kids!

Next week will be a busy one! Please remember that Monday, June 12 is our Water and Picnic Day. Make sure to check out your classroom newsletters for information and clothing requests.

Wednesday, June 14 is the last day of preschool programming for the 22-23 school year!

On Thursday, June 15, we will celebrate our students transitioning to Kindergarten at the Warren School in the fall. Only students graduating will arrive at school at 8:30 a.m., and the celebration begins at 10 a.m.

On Friday, June 16, we will have an Orientation for Families enrolled in the 2023-2024 school year. Sessions will be at 9 a.m. for students enrolled in the 3yr olds (1/2 day morning session) and 11 a.m. for 4yr olds (1/2 day afternoon session) and full day sessions. Please see below for more information.

For the 2023-2024 school year, if you know of anyone looking for a preschool experience, we currently have AM/PM sessions open. More information about preschool registration is available here.

Graduation Day: June 15 at 10 a.m.

We invite you to the graduation celebration on June 15! The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. The classes will walk out and take a seat on the risers. We will announce each class and child, allowing time for parents to come forward and snap a picture of them crossing the bridge and receiving their diplomas. When the ceremony has finished, you may take your preschooler to the playground for one last preschool playdate. Once graduation ends, their day will be concluded. There will be no bus transportation home after graduation.

If the graduation is held outside:

• Please bring your own blankets or chairs to watch the ceremony.
• Please come up to take photos of your preschooler only.
• The playground will be closed for siblings and family members until the ceremony has concluded.
• There will be a playground playdate after the ceremony.

If the graduation is in the gym (in case of inclement weather):

• Chairs will be provided.
• Please come up to take photos of your preschooler only.
• It can get warm in the gym. Please dress your child in light layers, as they will be wearing their graduation t-shirt and caps.

Your preschooler's day will begin at the normal time. Please send them with no backpack and a disposable snack.

New students/families enrolled in the Ashland Preschool for the 2023-2024 school year are invited to join us on Friday, June 16 for a new student/parent orientation at the Ashland Preschool. The orientation for AM Sessions will be from 9–10 a.m., and the orientation for PM and Full Day Sessions will be 11 a.m.–12 p.m.

Activities and Tours

Join us for various stations in the gym, including an obstacle course, coloring and story time. Please complete the activities with your child.

Get a “Sneak Peek” of Pittaway. Tours will be set up throughout the session and will start at the gym doors.

The playground will be available for 30 minutes after the session for free play and socializing with families. Please remember that you are responsible for supervising your child.

Parking

Please park in the parking lot off of Alden St. or on Central St. and enter the field through the gate.

Guests and Check-in

This is a parent/enrolled child event. Please make alternate arrangements for siblings. At the event, please check in at the registration table and get your name tags.

Please register if you plan on attending. If you cannot attend, we will have a full orientation session in the fall for all students and parents before school starts on Tuesday, September 5.
