October Newsletter
Message from Jen Damin
Dear BCS Elementary Teachers,
Welcome to October! I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we continue our journey through the 2023-2024 school year.
Thank you for the solid start you've given our students this school year. Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to establishing routines and procedures have played a pivotal role in maximizing instructional time. It's through your efforts that our students have been able to settle into a structured learning environment that sets the stage for their day-to-day learning and academic success.
Thank you for your time and effort put into Beginning-of-Year (BOY) assessments and your proactive use of BOY student data to inform your instructional planning. This data-driven approach allows you to tailor your teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student. I'm excited to see the positive impact this will have on our students' growth throughout the year.
In this month's edition of the BCS Elementary Newsletter, we're dedicating space to celebrate your accomplishments. You'll find "Teacher Shout Outs" highlighting teachers across Brunswick County Schools. Your dedication, creativity, and innovative teaching and engagement strategies do not go unnoticed, and we want to ensure your efforts are recognized and celebrated by the entire BCS community.
Our collective focus this year remains unwavering: to deliver the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCoS) with the full rigor of the standards to all K-5 students during core instruction. We believe in the potential of every student and are committed to providing them with a high-quality education that prepares them for success both inside and outside the classroom. Our commitment extends to providing targeted interventions to those students who may need extra support beyond core instruction, ensuring that students receive the support they need.
As we journey through the 2023-2024 school year, let's continue to work together to inspire and uplift one another and our students. Together, we will make this year transformative for our students.
Warm regards,
Jen Damin
