Mission Statement
As a Catholic community of faith, the mission of Saint John Nepomuk Catholic School is to model the gospel teachings of Jesus Christ and the principles of the Catholic Church. We are committed to the education and development of life-long learners and leaders.
Absences & Tardies
We have noticed more students arriving late to class and missing school for vacations/other activities. Please do your best to plan around our school calendar (if possible). Lost instruction time makes school much more difficult for students and teachers.
Note: students will need to get missed assignments, etc. when they return from an absence as it is difficult for teachers to prepare additional work in advance.
Q1 Report Cards
We will print grades for parent/teacher conferences. The final Q1 report cards will be sent out via email on October 16th.
PK3- Paper Report Cards
PK4- Report Cards (Mrs. Johnson will be handing out work samples instead of a report card for Q1)
K-8- Report cards will be sent out digitally on Oct. 16th
Q1 Honor Roll
Students who make the Pastors or Principals Honor Roll will be recognized after mass on October 24th.
Note: Honor Roll begins in 3rd grade.
Hearing and Vision
If your student did NOT receive a note, they had no concerns.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Note: October 10th is a normal school day and will end at 3:15pm. We will have additional middle school conferences in the afternoon on October 10th.

Red Ribbon Week!
Oct 27th-31st
Monday 10/27: PJ & Blanket Day
"Rest in God - Not Drugs"
Wear your coziest pajamas and bring a blanket. Let today be a reminder that true peace and rest come from trusting in God—not harmful choices.
Tuesday 10/28: Color Day
"Shine Bright—Live Right! "
Pick one color and wear it from head to toe! Just like you boldly stand out today, boldly stand up for what’s right and drug-free!
Wednesday 10/29: Rhyme without Reason
"There's No Good Reason to Do Drugs"
Dress with a friend or two to make funny silly rhymes with no reason. Some examples: "bumble bee and Christmas Tree" "Fairy, Mary, Dairy (cow)". You can also wear a silly outfit that rhymes—like “fairy canary” or “nurse with a purse!” It’s all fun and games—but remember: making smart choices is never a joke.
Thursday 10/30: Decade Day
"Decades of Drug Free Fun"
Dress up like your favorite decade—’50s greaser, ’70s disco, ’80s neon, etc. No matter the era, being drug-free is always cool.
Friday 10/31: All Saints Dress up
"Saintly Choices - Drug Free Voices"
Dress as your favorite saint — someone who made holy, courageous, and virtuous choices. Let their life inspire you to say “no” to drugs and “yes” to God’s path!

Library
1st Quarter 2025/2026 We have had a great start to the school year with lots of new books, fun activities, and a whole new library catalog. In August we spent a lot of time talking about book care and defining the many areas of our library. We learned that if a book is torn or falling apart we can bring it to the library and place it in the book hospital. Thankfully we are able to get them repaired and returned to the shelves and classrooms.
In September, PreK 4 and Kindergarten enjoyed books about going to school and visiting libraries. First and Second grade started the month looking at ABC order and making book marks to help us know our reading levels. They ended the month with comparing fiction and non-fiction books. Third thru Fifth grade focused on learning how to make searches on our new catalog at the beginning of the month. They ended the month with a sorting game about the different genres and the books we have available in our library for each type.
October is the month of MYSTERY!!! Second thru fifth grade are learning to infer like the great detectives Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, and Nate the Great. They are working through clues in teams trying to find out who sabotaged the fair or who stole the missing jewelry box. PreK 4 thru First grade are reading Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young and Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar? by Bonnie Lass & Philemon Sturges. We helped the mice figure out what they were seeing and have played a couple of guess who style games with clues.
