Planning for the future of GISD facilities
The Facilities Planning Committee met for the third time last week. This meeting was held at Chalmers Elementary. - Chalmers - addition of classrooms, secure fencing, new gym, parking lot, playground)
- Intermediate - addition of classrooms, secure fencing, fire alarm, parking lot playground)

Four Redcoats Advance to Area!
We welcomed hundreds of musicians for the All-Region Band auditions earlier this month. The Redcoats had 13 students compete and four will advance. Kohen Stuck, Amira Khan, Phoenix Kemp, and Logan Davis have all qualified to audition for Area Auditions in January. They will be competing for a spot in at the TMEA All-State auditions. Congratulations to all who competed!
2nd Annual Corey Bullock Scholarship
This week we were honored to accept a scholarship check in the amount of $6,000 from the Corey Bullock Memorial fund. The funds came from the 2nd annual Corey Bullock Memorial golf tournament held earlier this year.
This scholarships were awarded to graduating Leopards for the first time last year. The family hopes to continue this award in Corey's honor for years to come. Corey was a 2000 graduate of Gainesville High School, was the quarterback for the Leopards, and was a proud GHS alumni.
Before his passing, he made it clear to his family and friends that he wanted to give back to GHS in this way.
Presenting the check were Corey's sister Whitney and his best friend Casey.
