Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
February 4, 2022
We enjoyed another full week of learning here at Lutherville Laboratory! It's been good to settle back into the routine of a five day week. Our school family continues to amaze me. Our staff serves children with their whole hearts, always thinking of the whole child, and providing excellent instruction. They provide the love and rich foundation for students to grow. And your children are kind, caring, and collaborative.
As a school, we have much to look forward to in the days and weeks ahead. As clubs continue to resume, Transportation has shared they expect to also have the Activity Bus rolling next week.
Our book fair is fast approach, and the PTA is seeking volunteers and providing evening shopping hours for families. More information below.
Later this month we'll have MAP testing, which will help us see how much students have grown since October. We also have some exciting opportunities to celebrate Black History Month in the works with a Door Decorating Contest throughout the building and other special events. Finally, in the next few weeks we'll be sharing a math initiative to sure up foundational math skills at each grade level.
This week's weather has been the pits, but as we dream of warmer spring days ahead, consider spring sports for your child. Our partners at LTRC asked us to share the girls softball information attached to this newsletter -- games and practices are right in our backyard here at school.
As a reminder -- report cards will come home on Monday afternoon and will also be accessible through the parent portal.

BCPS Stakeholder Survey
We value the input and perspective of our community -- each summer our school team analyzes your input through the stakeholder survey to identify strengths and consider how we can improve our programming. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help us continue to improve.
The brief online survey is available on the BCPS website from January 31 through Friday, March 4, 2022. The survey is available in multiple languages. Information from this survey will help BCPS understand how to best support all stakeholders and to improve student and organizational performance. The survey feedback is also used by schools to refine School Progress Plans as well as by BCPS to measure progress toward goals in The Compass strategic plan.

Valentines for Veterans
If you are looking for a weekend craft for a good cause, see below!
This Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022, Congressman Ruppersberger is excited to invite Maryland students to join him in showing gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our local heroes by creating handmade Valentine’s Day cards that will be delivered to local Veterans in his first annual “Valentines for Veterans” project.
Congressman Ruppersberger will deliver the cards to a local VA facility on Valentine’s Day. Those who wish to participate may drop cards off at Congressman Ruppersberger’s Timonium office at 375 West Padonia Road any time before 5pm on February 11, 2022, or call 410-628-2701 to arrange for bulk pick-up.
