Principal's Spotlight, Dr. Brown Principal's Spotlight, Dr. Brown

Dear South Lebanon Families,

It is hard to believe that we are one quarter of the way through the school year already! We are looking forward to seeing all of you at parent/teacher conferences on November 24 and 25. Please take note that school will be closed for students from November 24-November 28, 2025. As you visit us for conferences, this is a great time to check out our lost and found table in the main lobby. With the fluctuation in fall temperatures, we have a wide variety of forgotten sweatshirts. jackets, and other items. As we prepare for Thanksgiving break, please note a change in the calendar this year. The Monday after Thanksgiving is a school day.

Following Thanksgiving break, we will be in full swing with the holiday season, which means we will have many visitors in our school for holiday activities. This is a good time to remind visitors of our entry and exit procedures. Please be sure not to enter from 5th Avenue between 8:30 to 9:10. We ask that anyone arriving during this time to enter from Endress road and wait in line until you are able to get into our parking lot. Your cooperation with this keeps all students and staff safe during these times of heavy traffic.

As always, we thank you for your continued support of your child's education. We hope that you will take time to read about all of the important events coming up in our school.

Take Care,

Dr. Brown

News from the Nurse's Office News from the Nurse's Office

FIELD TRIP PLANNING: Attention parents with an RN/LPN/MD active license. Time to start planning for spring field trips. If you are able to volunteer on field trips as the medical professional for the class trip, please reach out to your child’s teacher to start planning for requirements:

    1. This individual needs to have an RN, LPN or MD license that is current.
    2. This individual must be approved as a district volunteer
    3. This individual needs to submit a copy of their medical license, proof of current CPR card, and clearances to the District Office as soon as they agree to cover the field trip.
    4. Once notified that a volunteer is covering the field trip, the building nurse will reach out and arrange date and time or phone conversation to discuss medical needs of the students and possible mediations for the trip.

Please call the nurse with any questions regarding this process.

If not previously submitted, please turn in your student’s state mandated dental exam forms for grades K and 3rd.

Also, please turn in your student’s state mandated physical exam form for Kindergarten.

If you have not turned your child’s dental or physical forms into the nurse's office, please send them in ASAP.

School physical and school dental exam dates will be determined at a later time, and notification will be sent to the parent of the student in need of dental and physical requirement.

Stay healthy!

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.

Here’s how it works:

· Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system

· Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions

· Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention

· If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
