Congratulations to Varsity football on their 28-21 win against the Redhawks.
We loved how our students packed the stands to cheer on our Trail Blazer Football team and the Band, Drill & Color Guard.
Congratulations to LT Speech & Debate on hosting a highly successful speech and debate tournament on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The event brought together 18 schools, with some teams traveling from as far as Midland. The tournament would not have been possible without the incredible support from dedicated parents, and numerous student volunteers from both the Speech & Debate team and NHS.
Congratulations to all the competitors, especially those who qualified for the state tournament in March. Centennial High School took home the top prize for Individual Events, and Independence High School won the overall Frisco sweepstakes trophy.
Co-Presidents Darsh Chauhan and Aairah Usmani presented the awards to the winning teams.
Congratulations & thanks to STUCO for hosting a blazing hot pep rally to get us fired up for Friday’s game.
Congratulations to Trail Blazer Varsity Volleyball. This past Tuesday, the girls battled their way back from a 0–2 deficit against 6A opponent Braswell and pulled off an incredible comeback victory. Their performance was fueled by heart, grit, and a true sense of unity on the court in honor of their late coach, Coach Drain. This win not only showed their growth and determination, but also proved that they are a force to be reckoned with this season. The momentum carried over into the weekend, where they capitalized on Tuesday’s victory and displayed the same drive throughout their tournament play.
Trail Blazer Cross County competed at the DubEast Invitational last Friday. Congratulations to senior Andrew Malan who placed first in the Varsity Boys division with a time of 15.31. Varsity Boys placed 8th overall and Varsity Girls placed 11th overall. JV Boys placed 10th overall and JV Girls 9th in their division. We are proud of the efforts and commitment of this team.
Congratulations to Trail Blazer Tennis for their win against the Redhawks, and their move to 2-0 district play. Match MVP goes to Abish, and match ball goes to Saharsh, both played up two spots and still won their matches!
Our NJROTC cadets have been hard at work, building the foundation for a successful year. The cadet chain of command is immersed in guiding new cadets through the essentials of the NJROTC program.
Coming Up on the Trail
Counseling Corner
AP & Advanced Class Drop Window
The window for students to drop Advanced or AP courses is now open. We understand that these decisions can be complex, and we want to ensure you have all the necessary information to make an informed choice.
Key Dates and Procedures
Form Availability: Starting Wednesday, September 10, students can pick up an Advanced/AP Drop Form from their teacher or the Counseling Office.
Submission Deadline: The completed form, including required parent and teacher signatures, must be returned to the Counseling Office no later than 4:30 PM on Wednesday, September 17.
Effective Date: All approved schedule changes will go into effect on Monday, September 22.
Eligible Changes: This drop window is only for students wishing to change from an advanced or AP class to an on-level equivalent. No other schedule changes will be processed at this time.
Late Arrival/Early Release: Juniors and Seniors who are dropping a course may request a Late Arrival or Early Release period if they do not already have two on their schedule. Students Must have their own transportation and are not permitted to stay on campus during this time.
Specific Course Information
Courses Without an On-Level Equivalent: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics, AP Spanish 4 or 5, AP Euro, AP Music Theory, AP Calc BC, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Art courses. AP Computer Science, AP French 4, Spanish 3 Adv. Dropping these courses will result in a change to a Late Arrival or Early Release period. If the course is a graduation requirement, a counselor will discuss your options with you to ensure you stay on track.
AP Seminar: AP Seminar has a different drop window. It can only be dropped at the 6-week mark and only applies to 11th and 12th-grade students.
Important Considerations
Changes Are Not Guaranteed: Submitting a form does not guarantee a schedule change. Approval depends on seat availability in the requested on-level course.
Grading: If you drop an advanced class, your grade from the first six weeks will follow you to the new on-level course and will be part of your Q1 average.
No Reversals: Once a schedule change is made, it cannot be undone. Please carefully consider your decision before submitting the form. We are unable to predict what a new schedule will look like in advance.
If you have any questions or concerns, we strongly encourage you to speak with your counselor.

Reminders
End of Year & Vacation Planning
As we begin this school year, I want to share an important update about attendance and grading expectations. Unlike in recent years, student grades and assessments will now be collected through the very last week of school. Every instructional day matters, and it is essential that students are present and engaged until the final day of the school year.
We know families often plan trips in advance, but please schedule travel after the last day of school. Missing these last instructional days can affect a student’s learning and may have a direct impact on their final grades.
Access the academic calendar and view our grading practices by clicking on the Campus Assessment and Grading link on our campus website. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure students finish the year strong.
We’re looking forward to a great year of learning together!
