Subject: Planning for Next Year – Student Placement Information
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our staff is currently in the process of organizing class lists for the upcoming school year. If your
child will not be attending J.C. Charyk Hanna School in the fall, we kindly ask that you inform
us as soon as possible. This information helps us plan more effectively and ensures the best
placement for all students.
Creating class lists is a thoughtful and complex process. Our teachers and administration
carefully consider many factors when determining the best placement for each student. These
include:
Academic achievement and learning needs
Required academic supports
Behavioural considerations
Gender balance
Learning styles
Peer relationships
We understand that class placements may not always match a child’s friendship preferences.
While we strive to create the most supportive and balanced learning environments, it’s not
always possible for students to be placed with their closest friends due to the many factors
involved.
For those who have submitted a teacher request, please know that we do take these into
consideration. However, due to staffing and classroom balance needs, it may not be possible to
accommodate all requests.
Please also note that once class lists are finalized and shared with families, changes are
extremely difficult to make. The process involves many moving parts, and switching a student
from one class to another is not a simple task.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Sincerely,
Corry Raugust,
Principal, J.C. Charyk Hanna School
AHS Healthcare Career Exploration Days
See healthcare careers in action!
These in-person events give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience exploring a variety of careers in healthcare. Participants will have the chance to try different procedures, tools, and skills while learning directly from healthcare professionals working in the field.
Each camp is unique, giving participants the opportunity to explore the many departments and roles required to keep a hospital or healthcare facility running — from skilled trades and support services to frontline clinical care and even air ambulance helicopters.
The program is open to students entering Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who are interested in learning more about career opportunities within our health care system and the educational pathways required to get there.
Once an application is submitted, participants will receive a confirmation email and additional event details.
Please note: Attendees may be exposed to real medical situations, images, smells and information that some individuals may find graphic or unsettling.
