WMS WildcatNewsletter - August 6thInformation Regarding Coming Back to School

Welcome to Wilmington Middle School

Hello Students and Families,

I hope all is well with each of you. I hope that you are all enjoying your summer. I look forward to all of the students coming back this Fall. I can't wait to see students returning and meeting our incoming 6th graders and all of our new students. In this newsletter, please find some information regarding schedules, supplies, and a few other items. More information on other topics will be coming in the coming weeks; however I wanted to start with those that are the most timely.

This coming weekend looks great and I hope that you all have plans to enjoy the wonderful weather. My nieces and sister-in-law will be arriving today for a girls’ weekend. We haven’t done this in two years due to COVID and I can’t tell you how excited I am to have them here. This is one event that is making me feel that things are really starting to get back to normal.

I hope that you all enjoy your weekend.

Stagnant Classes

There will be no rotation with classes this Fall. Classes will remain stagnant or occur at the same time every day as they did last year. This is a change from our schedule prior to COVID but was found to be easier to manage for students and liked by the majority of staff.

No Lockers

Lockers will continue to not be used this year at WMS. In an effort to keep backpacks lighter, teachers have revised their supply list to condense the amount of materials that they will be carrying. As well, as a school, administration is looking into what supplies can be supplied to assist with this matter.

Overall Supply List

Please find an overall list of the type of supplies that will be needed Your students’ teachers will be providing specific information at the beginning of the school year.

FYI - This year, WMS is able to provide Agenda Books to every student for free.

Mark Your Calendars - Open House September 9th!
